Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Allow for wall dispensers that provide welders with fuel much like tazer rechargers.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Much more safety in regards to engineering.
A possible new alternative to dangerous fuel tanks.
Much more mapping capacity.
Several new opportunities for mappers to use it or people to implement new features.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Basically, the dispenser would work like pepper spray rechargers.
It is on the wall, acting as a wall-mounted recharger, and only takes items that require fuel.
It recharges X unit per tick of fuel, much slower than simply clicking a fuel tank, but doesn't blow up if welded (or does, your call).
It can be recharged with a beaker filled with fuel like the virus food dispenser does.
ALTERNATIVE: It simply refuels the welder when clicked. It's still nice to have a wall mount refueller.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Inspirated code, minor spriting and wizardry.
PS: Even thou you may think this is un-necessary. Do please criticize it over its use and benefits. I know that the devs are working hard and this may be taken back a few months to be implemented, but it is infact fairly easy to add (imo) and would be nice for mappers to use.

Fuel dispensers
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Re: Fuel dispensers
I like it because there no fuel tanks to find late into the round. They're all used as bombs.

Re: Fuel dispensers
In general incendiaries/fuel need a pretty decisive overhaul, and it should be possible to synthesize fuel at the chem dispenser: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=9592
Personally I'd be in favour of this if it converts energy into fuel rather than having to be refueled via a beaker/other container, otherwise it's pretty eh/marginal.

Re: Fuel dispensers
My idea is to have jerricans later-on or anything that could transport fuel from fuel cannisters or a fuel storage to these wall-mounted dispensers. Although, your method could work if we consider it actually takes the ship's supply and pump it using the electricity to power the pump. Either works imo if the initial amount of fuel in the dispenser is reasonable.Surrealistik wrote:In general incendiaries/fuel need a pretty decisive overhaul, and it should be possible to synthesize fuel at the chem dispenser: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=9592

Re: Fuel dispensers
Denied.
There are fuel-tanks on the sulaco and planetside. Just don't let morons blow them up.
