It was cold. Dark. Stingy. London. He drew these facts in because there was nothing else he could do but sit in the cold with Milo and wait.
'Sit' was an understatement. They were laying in an alley behind some dingy pub waiting for their target to leave from the side. Some big shot company representative who had spent a bit too much on luxuries and not enough on business. "No such thing." Saul thought as he adjusted himself on the filthy pavement, glancing at the dumpster to his left, the smell of rotting milk and old beer wafting from it like a river from a mountain. Milo, the cheap bastard that he was, would have no problem being ascetic with his money. Greasy brown hair on his oily pale face. If it weren't for him being in the crew, Saul would have thought he lived in this alley. The older man was busy watching an ad on the massive holoscreen across the street. Something about dentistry?
They suddenly perked up as the target walked out the door, looking nowhere near as drunk as their source said he should be. What was worse is that he was walking right towards them, looking at them. The man was wearing a suit, fitting for his position, with a matching tie and pants. The only thing that was out of place was the handgun in his right hand. The duo stood up as he pointed it at them, "You really think I'm dumb enough to get blindsided by a midget and a hermit from some rim bounty crew?" he asked, looking cocky as someone else came up behind them. A woman in a white uniform that curiously held no markings. She had flowing black hair above a shining face-mask, the reflective glass covering every inch of her head until it reached her forehead. Saul couldn't even see the color of her skin from how much she was covering herself in the padded white outfit. She started checking them for weapons, sparking a comment about taking them to dinner from the shorter Martian that earned him a swift jab to his back.
"Alright. Time to end this charade." Milo said, ignoring his own gun laying on the floor behind the woman and lurching forward at the man in the suit, Saul quickly firing his elbow back into her stomach and putting his fists up, something spitting behind him. He glanced back to see Milo laying on the ground, the company rep unscrewing the smoking suppressor on his handgun with his gloved hand. "62. I trust you can deal with the midget." he snarked and walked off, rounding the corner and disappearing from sight.
"Bastard." Saul muttered, wincing as the woman cracked the back of his head with a heavy aluminium pipe. He stumbled forward and spun to face her, feeling dizzy and putting his fists up as she presses a small button on the baton, a blade extending down the length of the weapon from within. "Cheating bitch." he thought as he kicked at her gut, the masked woman swinging the baton upwards and ducking to the side. He heard something rip on his leg but ignored the sound and accompanying spreading wetness on his pants, opting to duck to the side as she makes another swing for his head. He picked up the fallen pistol and-
Saul woke with a start, leaning on the barricade outside the Northern Nexus door on a distant archaeological dig site. Bugs chittered in the jungle around him as someone yelled something in his ear piece about Hydroponics. He yawned and rubbed the patch of hair on his chin, grabbing his M41A from the sling across his chest. Something was moving in the shadow of night, coming right for him. Something big..

Re: Dreams
Im assuming this is just a random story you decided to type up... For a second I thought it was a continuation of your last one, where you're fighting the commies.
And I also thought this was a story taking place in 1984 when you mentioned holoscreens... but clearly not the case.
Pretty good read if I say so myself.

Re: Dreams
It sparked from me reading my dossier to look for improvements. I started typing this up and realized it was too long for the dossier. Still just a rando shortstory.Martzin wrote:Im assuming this is just a random story you decided to type up...
