Xenomorph Sister Locations In Hive Status

Post by Crab_Spider » 11 Jan 2017, 10:28

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Xenomorphs have their locations supplied in "Hive Status", updating 20 seconds (reduces lag) after every one of them enters a new area. Essentially, it's like Crew Monitoring, but for xenomorphs.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Provides an actual feel of a Hivemind rather than wasting time explaining your location (great for players who are new to the game or don't understand the maps), assaults will be simpler to coordinate.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Opening up "Hive Status" will greet the user with the life or death statuses of other xenos and their specific location, similar to crew monitoring, but more precise. If a xeno is (LV 426) near Nexus, telecommunications, and engineering but hasn't entered those buildings, they will come up as to being "South", if they went near the Mining Storage, then they're at the "East Central Barrens"

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): N/A

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

+1
This way I feel less bad about reporting aliens that wanders off against orders to our Queen.
Troublesome, as usual.

I don't know about this. If it works like Crew Monitoring, you still wouldn't be specifying where a sister xeno was if you were reporting them to the Queen because of the zoning.

I believe literally half of the LV-624 area above the river is labeled "Barrens" or something like that. If I am wrong, I would like to know but I am going to hold judgement until I hear more.
