Firstly, I often don't use huggers at mature or elite, and support huggers being limited to carrier and queen.
That said, there are several things wrong with your post and perspective.
1) Crushers are terrible at taking out plasteel barricades. They can't charge them, and their damage below elite is pitiful.
2) If you're using the realism angle, then why can runners use huggers but not crushers?
3) A crusher or any xeno taking on multiple marines themselves is completely normal. Marines usually have double to triple combat capable numbers normally, and if xenos aren't doing well that number can easily creep up to quintuple. Long time players know that the game is pretty much over if xenos can reach 1:1.
Basically, I support this idea for a lot more than just the crusher, even though I hardly would be affected by it personally. However, I'm not convinced you have a strong grasp of crusher mechanics.
