Hugger not infecting

Post by JDresdin » 01 Feb 2017, 17:27

Bug Description: at roughly 5:20 Pm EST Feb 1st (for logs).

I pounced a marine 'Dallas Weeter' as an elite runner, hugged him and devoured. Ran straight to the east tunnel and started crawling through. This was done with speed and there was no chance hugger stun could have worn off, as well there was no tell-tale sound of the hugger falling off either. On exiting the tunnel I was instagibbed by a fully conscious Dallas' Machete.

He was not infected. (This was done on a rare game where I was completely sober, 100% sure I hugged, got to tunnel in time, etc. etc.)

Steps to reproduce:
1.Hug and devour.
2.Get gibbed
3.Marine is magically not infected.

How long were you running?
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Very short time, well under the time it takes for hugger to fall off. There was no sound of hugger falling off as I mentioned either.

Most importantly though, he's not infected after.

It's possible he woke up from the acid burns, although, this isn't something you can just do.

So, woke up from acid burns, removed his hugger, then gibbed me? Never heard of that being possible but if so that's pretty impressive.

Yeah. Although killing a hugger should seriously make a sound, and trying to manually remove a hugger might just fuck you over. I'll try to run a test on this when I get back. Also, did the guy have a bayonet in his hand?

Nope, was a machete he took off his suit (he dropped his stuff when I pounced and hugged as usual)

Acid from stomach does not make you wake up this fast, even with coffee, hyperzine and etc, this shouldn't have been possible, so yeah this is a bug, esspecially removing the hugger, since you aren't supposed to be able to remove it on your own

When the human who got facehugged is injured, it seems like some "adrenaline" (read: magic) will kick in and make the person wake up from the stun sooner, even before the hugger can take effect. This is likely what happened to your facehugged host.

It's actually been around for a while, and...
