ExGame's Command Ban Appeal

Post by ExGame » 13 Feb 2017, 11:19

Your Byond ID: ExGame

Character Name: William Joyce

Type Of Ban (Job-ban, Timed Ban, Permaban): Job-ban

Admin who banned you (if known): McRipfist

Total Ban Duration: Permanent

Remaining Duration: See above

What other servers do you play on? Paradise

Are you now or have you been banned on any of them? Have been week-banned once on Paradise

Reason for ban (If you have a Permaban, it should be the EXACT MESSAGE YOU GET WHEN YOU LOGIN with the Error code that looks like this: X##XXX##. If you do not provide this EXACTLY you can't be unbanned): Suicide as BO, Edited ID to make self Acting CO, returned ID to original state after being warned.

Link to previous appeals for the same ban (if applicable):

Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc): I'll go into the self acting CO first, it all started with the XO going SSD before briefing started. We had 2 BOs and held a vote who will take command over the marines orders and briefing in the command channel, where I won the majority of command staff/SL votes. I temporarily changed my BO ID to "Acting Commander" but then got PMd about it after doing a briefing and giving orders (the other BO cryod at this point) that this is not acceptable, so I just changed it back to BO. Turns out my orders were shit that ended up in more or less marines getting killed due to them, blame on me for never having ever played a role that gave orders to the entire Marines and being the only BO. I try to rectify the situation via command channels giving them new orders, at this point all the SLs lost trust in me and ignored everything I said, saying "Fuck command, we're making our own orders." At this point the Marines were losing even more ground and men, me getting pointed out more and more for my bad decisions in command channel. 1 hour into the mission the entire situation was pretty much lost and the Marines were doing full evacuation. So I decided to just shoot myself on the Bridge for more or less a interesting scenario. Marines arrived at Sulaco, found my dead body and just few minutes after Aliens began boarding the Sulaco and took over it. So here's the story.

Yes, I have been wrong about making myself acting Commander through a vote with command. I can't really deny it.
What bugs me is that I have not been messaged about my suicide, not asking why or even notifying me of it.
From my perspective the suicide was justified and hardly "without reason" and the mission already began failing.
I might see how me suiciding instead of cryoing could have affected the round (even though no command really appeared after my suicide even when there was a possibility) so yes I do apologize for causing any inconvenience.
But I'd also like to ask for a opinion from McRipfist about the suicide/ban as I have not got the chance to talk about it to them.

"without reason" includes inproper reason, which is what you had. The only reason to suicide right now is if you know about the alien reproduction ICly and have been infected or maybe if you are the last human alive.
If you ever wonder when did I really start hating incompetent people read Crab Spider's signature... I was that CMO.

That's great and all said in hindsight, but it isn't mentioned anywhere that being infected and knowing about it ICly is the only reason you are allowed to suicide.
I can only find "Suicide without an EXTREMELY good reason. "I'm logging out", or "Just Because" are subject to an immediate ban. Just leave.", and, well, "I'm logging out" or "Just Because" did not really happen in this case.

Being new to command is not an extremely good reason.

Being new to command was definitely not the reason. I already said that it was pretty much because all Marines decided to ignore me, the Sulaco was about to get boarded and I was pretty much left alone in Command.
I would have appreciated a PM about it that that is not a good reason, or atleast a notification that I got jobbaned about it.
And I'm not sure what else to say besides apologizing for the inconvenience I caused.
