Lel, I'm pretty sure everyone has to agree that the Crusher is OP.

Aw darn, Tor and I are too good.
Seriously though, I've killed a crusher alone. They're not OP.

Re: The crusher...
I think the hugger adjustment test suggests that all the offensive castes are too strong when they can spam huggers.
However, crushers can be set on fire, are significantly less armored from the sides and back, and their melee attacks are quite weak and inaccurate until they reach elite. Their generally low mobility makes them quite vulnerable if caught overextended with stomp down.

Re: The crusher...
I mean, yeah they're relatively easy to handle alone, but just last round we had 5 crushers who would just charge in straight lines destroying everyone. No skill involved, they just ran down thin corridors with one or two others and destroyed everyone. I was a sniper, and during Sulaco boarding I was rammed twice and died, all because they would cover all the exits by running at them, killing or majorly wounding anyone who was there.
I also shot a crusher 3 times with a sniper and not a single bullet penetrated their armor in front. All I think should happen is to lower the health pool so they are very strong up front but cant take many actual hits.
a single crusher was able to take out a B18 spec with a hugger and stomp. It gets ridicules at times, I mean you can't sit here and say they aren't a LITTLE overpowered.
what incentive is there to take lets say a ravager when a mature crusher can do its job with a single hugger?

Re: The crusher...
I think my main issue with crushers right now, is the "tackle-drag" tactic in the caves, which is basically when they charged or tackled somebody after charging, and then dragged them through the acid cloud/to the hive, and because their tackle is so long and they can repeatedly click on marine to face the fighting side, you are screwed, now this happens much less due to stomping not being a AOE stun, People still seriously need to coordinate and split squads up a bit, instead of attacking a thin ass corridor with all their forces, i once flanked with 3 other people and there was next to no xenos there, only a hunter, not even defenses, if we had at least half of our forces there, or invaded from there, it would have been a Major Victory quite easily without too much effort and salt.

stomp was reverted to AOE stun again, BTW

Re: The crusher...
Crusher stomp is a much needed part of its arsenal, but at the same time it makes it way too OP, especially with hugger combat.
Its a catch-22. Remove it and make crusher obsolete, re-add it and make Crusher too OP.

Re: The crusher...
What makes crusher OP is huggers and team support. The former should be removed, the latter is just smart play. Crushers are easy to pick off if they don't have help from faster castes, but a smart crusher generally sticks with their team and protects boilers, who are the real powerhouses of the xeno offense.Swagile wrote:Crusher stomp is a much needed part of its arsenal, but at the same time it makes it way too OP, especially with hugger combat.

I saw very balanced crusher/ravager numbers during the test before the stomp nerf. Afterword I'd only recommend crusher as a boiler barricade, as they have no ability to initiate a fight nor get out of one.
Crusher could probably function with a 1 tile radius stomp instead of two if they really needed a nerf. That said, flamethrowers shut them down extremely hard.

Re: The crusher...
Yeah, thats what I mean; once a Crushers stomp was removed in the test, it was a really unfun experience. I liked charging in, breaking some cades, then stomping out. However, once stomp was removed, you were just a huge, mobile wall. Id rather play Drone and make resin walls with almost the same effectiveness as a Crusher and with the ability to do more than be a Crusher near the end of the test.Toroic wrote:What makes crusher OP is huggers and team support. Re: The crusher...
Quick PSA here:
Crushers are the least scary thing to walk up to your FOB, out of all the castes in the game, they deal damage WAY too slowly for it to be something worrysome. Crusher rammed your cade? It takes four fully ramped charges to break a metal barricade, and you have enough time to weld it back to full health twice over in between charges. Crushers slashing your barricades? Their slash damage is probably worse than a young drone's, just weld up the miniscule damage it dealt after its pushed back.
The Crusher is not a battering ram, no matter how you put it, other castes do it better.

Re: The crusher...
I'd like to say crushers are op as fuck but almost everytime i play xeno a young crusher ends up dying pretty early on and can be taken out quickly with the incinerator or incindenary ammo. I see ravagers do a lot more collateral damage.

Ravagers are only dangerous if you have no mines / your assaulting hive.skhul wrote:I'd like to say crushers are op as fuck but almost everytime i play xeno a young crusher ends up dying pretty early on and can be taken out quickly with the incinerator or incindenary ammo. Outside of that, they are weak as hell, because without a crusher they can get downed from one mine then shot to death.
And they can't do enough significant damage to metal barricades (if engineers are competent) to destroy them since said engineer can come and weld it back (as long as marines are actually manning the barricades).

Re: The crusher...
Yeah I agree it's situational. It really helps when they barely have any command and req is fucked. But if you manage to become elite as rav mines can be survived pretty easily. I do a good job at inspecting tiles before doing anything stupid. My only fear is the good ol' SADAR.Swagile wrote:Ravagers are only dangerous if you have no mines / your assaulting hive.

Re: The crusher...
As always, I think the crusher is a little too overpowered. Although people say that there are many counters and that it is easy to take down, one thing is that those counters may not always be available or reliable (flamethrower nerf made them rarely used again rip). I'd rather deal with a crusher than a Hunter though.

without Huggers the crusher is easily a manageable enemy, people are just idiots.

Re: The crusher...
Main problem with Crushers is their ability to hold huggers. And unless there's a diagram somewhere explaining how a Crusher can carry two huggers, I'm going to call bullshit (internally) whenever I see a Crusher using huggers.

Re: The crusher...
Fairly certain that in hugger combat rework part 2 combat castes will loose the ability to hold huggers anyways. So just wait for that if you hate them carrying huggers.

Re: The crusher...
If it didn't have that sudden stomp attack. I would take it on one to one. But otherwise its impossible and risky to even have a few go against it. Bones will be crushed and heads torn off. No survival is required since your pretty much out of the game for a good hour when hit. Unless you got a good medic who knows what he or she is doing.
