Setg'in Halkrath - Deadly Shadow (Young Blood)

Post by MisunderstoodOne » 18 Feb 2017, 14:01

Byond ID: TheMisUnderstoodOne

Marine Name: Jenna "Frosty" Campbell (Notorious for "changing it up" with names - won't happen here.)

Name of the character you want whitelisted: Setg'in Halkrath (Deadly Shadow)

Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor?: Only read the darn thing twenty times.

Character background (BRIEF description of background):

Entering the Elders chambers stood a scarred Yautja Young Blood, taking a knee, showing respect.. Blood oozed out of some open wounds, nothing major..
"Status on your last Hunt? Tell me h'ka-se (now), Young Blood I don't have all the time in the world."
The Elder moved toward the Young Blood, expecting a status on the previous Hunt.. Golden eyes gazed down at the Young Yautja.

"Setg'in Halkrath - Deadly Shadow.. The Hunt went well, the kainde amedha (hard shells) were worthy prey.. There was also Ooman's down there, but they didn't cause much of a problem for me. But the other two you sent down are thei-de.. (dead)"
Raising his head from where it once hung, meeting the Elders glare head on.

The Elder twisted the grey dreadlocks that sprouted from the sides of his head, almost waiting for something else..
"Well did they die honorably?.."
The Elder paused for a few moments, still awaiting a response.

"Yes, Elder they died honorably. Aseigan died at the center of the Hive, killing the Queen. Nracha-dte met his u'sl-kwe (final rest) while fighting off three Praetorian's."
Silence filled the air for a few short moments, before the Elder gripped the Young Bloods shoulder, raising him from the ground with nothing but raw strength.

"I guess you are still nan'ku.. (breathing/alive) So that's good. Somewhat.. I have another hunt for you. This time you are going out alone.."
Once more the room fell silent as the Elder placed his hand on the Young Bloods shoulder once more.
"You are going to a planet called.. 'LV-624', there are more kainde amedha (hard shells) there, should be worthy - you know what to do.. This planet is also Var - human colony.. This should be a great honor to you.."

"It will be done, Elder."

Deadly Shadow isn't the most well known Hunter in his clan, but he is likely one of the best stalkers and trackers. Usually only using hand-to-hand combat due to the fact that it is more enjoyable that way. But occasionally he will pull one of the long range weapons from his arsenal to gun down a cowardly runner. The nine-rules that the Yautja must follow are held close to Shadow's chest, due to the fact that his Father broke the rules and was dishonored, stripped of his name and any trophies that he had obtained over the years, then sent to a dishonorable death..

Shadow will not end up like that, honor is in life and in death.

How do you intend to play your predator (Describe HOW you will act/play your predator.)?:
Personality wise Deadly Shadow is generally very calm and collective about most situations, its mainly the reason why he was given the name in the first place, sitting back, analogizing the situation and environment, then striking when the time fits just right.. His top priority is killing off Xenomorphs during a Hunt, but occasionally he will go after a human that seems worthy, usually pulling them into Jedhin - Hand to hand combat where anything goes, usually non-fatal.

(Out of Character/ In Character Note - This character is meant for good RP between Yautja and Humans. And more "murder-hungry" RP towards Aliens - mainly because they are the worthiest prey, meaning that Shadow's main focus will be to RP-Kill Aliens and have a little fun with them while he's stalking - will generally ignore the lower tiers and go after Tier 2(?)/3. Will kill marines if they decide to simply open fire on Deadly Shadow if he is not provoking them.)

Why should we whitelist you?: I like to believe that I'm a pretty nice guy - easy to get along with and relatively funny. I've been playing Colonial Marines for what feels like an eternity - taking breaks now and again so the game doesn't get to repetitive. Recently got back into the game, decided that I wanted to try something different, unique in a way.. Being a Marine Specialist is fun and all, same with being a regular old Ravanger - but I feel like its time to try and be on neither side of the conflict, be my own little Hunter..

Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?: Not in the last month, I believe I was banned for a few months around early May of 2016, for blowing the supermatter on a mutiny round, but that was - way back, almost a full year. I believe I've grown up a bit from then.

Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?: Don't play anything other than Colonial Marines on SS13.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?: Yes, minus the ones that are put on at the start of the round as "Bad Blood" -Hunter hunted by hunters.

So.

Horrendous forum activity, a less than adequate story filled with spelling and grammar mistakes, displays some lack of knowledge about CM Predators, I could rant on and on about this.

Put simply, it's not up to standard.

Alright, while reading this application I will say this, it's not the best out there ((I am one to judge)) but it's alright. The story is different to show you not hunting, but more like a prolog and epilog at the same time, it's not that big of a problem, and there are grammar problems, but not that many. For the application its self it does not make sense. You say your Yautja is a youngblood, but he just came back from a hunt from xenomorphs. That is a pretty big thing and is the only major thing that pops out at me as bad. Your forum activity is really low but with anything it can be improved, so I don't see it as that big of an issue.

I am going to have to give this a -1 the app was well thought out but has lore issues which are very important, if you were to fix this next time around I would gladly give you a +1.
Praise Feweh the true lord and savior! Grant us your godly Midi's.

More forum or discord activity will help people get to know you, and that's important if you want to get into a powerful whitelist position. Do you have any ideas on how you'll RP exactly?

I'm not sure i like the layout (or colours) of this application, and its possibly a bit short. I do like the idea of a highly strategic or 'thinking pred', however.
My first (and likely only medal)

Alright, so the backstory, is a nice spin, on a /Backstory/ I'll give you credit for that, though it lacks what your character will act like, obviously I'm not one to judge, I'm not the one who made the darn thing. Regardless I see no problem in it, other then it's mostly just speaking on what occurred, which It'd demonstrate a little laziness, though I see it was well maintained. How you'll hunt it's rather average, nothing new or anything, it's just being more calm, instead of a blood gurgling Predator. Forum Activity can go up, but I won't hold it against you. I'll lean towards a neutral stance.

Let me put it this way on the lack of forum use issue. I would rather be playing the game, then talking to people playing the game.
Rant on please, I would like to hear some amount of feedback so I can actually make it better for next time.

Thank you for the feedback, I will likely change things for next time. Instead of the way I went about it this time, I will likely go and make some story of Shadow hunting or something. Grammar problems are likely cause it was made in about one hour with no editing before posting. Kind of just put some words together and dropped it on the forums to see what I'd be dealing with.
But again, thank you and I'll grow on this.

Don't have the discord link to join, probably wouldn't use it as much as I would want to due to the fact that I'd rather not give myself a chance to meta after talking with people on the discord. (Probably wouldn't meta anyway, takes the fun out of the game.)

On the matter of how I'd play Setg'in Halkrath. I'd like to play him as a highly strategic minded warrior/scout/stalker typed character that utilizes close quarters combat.
What I mean by that is, instead of straight up murdering everyone, like I have been watching most Predators do lately.. Setg'in would wait in the shadows, picking targets and moving in for the kill once it has somehow found itself alone - only picking the worthiest of targets such as Tier 2/3 aliens (Hunters - depends on age, Spitters, Praetorians, Ravangers, Crushers - big game hunting basically.), Marine Specialists and maybe an odd Squad Lead or two.
Basically staying cloaked the whole time, only coming out to fight.

Or I could only come out when the marines are getting gutted by the Aliens, thin the herd and possibly let the marines have some kind of comeback.

Probably should have put that kinda stuff in the app, oh well.

Yeah, now that I've actually had time just to sit back and look at it, not my best work..

But yes, thank you for that. Looked at a few other applications, lot of people are doing the same type of thing.

Thanks for the feedback and your time. I'll try and take things away from these comments and put them to good use for next time.
Still don't see the reason for my forum activity to go up, but if that's what the community wants, then sure.

Nothing special about this app, and your marine isnt too special either. id say -1 right now
Janina 'Bullseye' Jardine- Never misses, but what she DOES hit is another thing

This place would be so much better if marines were replaced with cyborgs, atleast those would follow orders. assuming there was a rule forcing them to do so...
