I'm almost certain that there is a food that you do need to cook but i can't remember which vendor it's from or what it even is. Just grab an MRE and some burritos.

This also bothered me. Make it like Donk Pockets in that you can eat them without cooking them, But cooking them makes them better. Muh immersions.
