WHAT THE DICKENS- Er, records of Bobby Dickens.

Post by RandomWriter » 04 Mar 2017, 08:29

Bobby ‘Sharp’ Dickens.
General Data.

Name: Bobby ‘Sharp’ Dickens. This marine has requested that his middle name not be divulged, possibly due to some embarrassment or simply not wanting any of his squadmates to know. However, we have managed to learn that his middle name is actually Sharp, meaning that his nickname is actually his middle name as well. Why he requests this information be kept secret is unknown, though this recorder believes it may possibly be for the sole purpose of screwing with his teammates.

Aliases: Sharp, Halfwit, Dickens, Bobby, Nerd.

Rank: Private First Class.

Position: Slightly experienced grunt.

Age: 25.

Gender: Male.

Nationality: German-American. German on his father’s side, American on his mother’s.

Height: 6’1

Weight: 145 pounds.

Eye color: Blue.

Hair color: Black.

Martial status: Unmarried.

Relatives: Irina Derosset (Mother), Lionel Dickens (Father)

Noticeable Marks: Slight scarring around front of the body, likely from bullet or knife entrance. Some scarring on back, largely from Colonial Liberation Front interrogation methods.

Personal items: Borrowed breathing masks for intimidation or for ‘asthetic’ do not count as personal items, and will not be deemed as such.

Dickens’s personal objects include a camera, a grouping of books, photos of numerous squadmates, a deck of cards, and numerous pop culture films, all of which he won’t shut up about.

If weapons dispensed by the USCM fit into this category, Dickens’s personal knife collection, pistol, and M41A rifle count, though he will note the loss of his prized M39, to which several squad members have noted sucked.

Backstory: Lionel Dickens was one of many immigrants who moved to America from Germany, partially out of fear at the UPP, and partially due to opportunism. There he met Irina Derosset, and they eventually fell in love, before he joined the USCM, despite the majority of recruits being from colonial territories.

Eventually after a prodigious and successful career which got him to the ranking of Executive Officer, he screwed up. The records as to what precisely happened have been wiped clean, but the op itself was a response to a general distress beacon on a planet owned by Weyland Yutani.

Nothing is known about the operation other than that it was an utter failure, though most blame space pirate activity for the loss of the ship involved. Lionel’s rising star fell, and he was later discharged due to several factors. For starters, being the highest ranking officer alive on the ship who had survived, his maniac paranoia after the event, and his use of millitary resources in a hunt for whatever he believed to have caused the incident, resulting in several excesses that, while they were not the sole cause of tensions that formed the Colonial Liberation Front, did cause some colonial populations to have grievances.

Yet, the USCM didn’t discharge him right away, but waited until after the pirates were destroyed and the general insurrection that began the CLF was ‘quelled’, and the Dust Raiders retreated.

Oddly enough, Weyland Yutani promptly hired his father afterwards, embedding him in their Special Projects division and offering a hefty sum to both Lionel and Irina. Both left Earth, and shortly after getting settled in, Bobby Sharp Dickens was born.

Bobby’s relationship with his father appears to have been strained, with him calling his father a WY spook and reports of occasional strife between the two. Yet at the same time, it’s clear Bobby wanted to be like him in some respects. He took similar classes, had the same knack for history, and joined the corps, just like his father.

However, the similarities end there. Unlike his father, who quickly rose through the ranks, Bobby was a very deviant individual from the start, and got in trouble very easily due to minor outbursts, minor breaches of marine law, and such.

That changed during a battle against Colonial Liberation forces, in which he ended up surviving the crash landing of a dropship, hid under the corpse of one of his fellow squadmates as CLF grunts combed through and either took prisoners, or took lives, depending on the resistance faced.

Eventually however, he was captured and interrogated for any intelligence on the Almayer and its troops, none of which he knew at all.

One to two days later, he and the other prisoners were rescued, and he himself was fully ready to comply with orders. He was promoted to Squad Lead, and then demoted a few operations later.

Bobby ended up risking the lives of those under his command, nearly declaring war on another squadron due to faulty intelligence and paranoia, and as such, has been deemed unfit in squad leadership qualities.

Thankfully, no one seems too hung up about it, and there is a chance that some day, one day, he may rise up the ranks.

Though considering his track record before he became competent, that day will likely not be soon.

Personality: Dickens is sarcastic, flirtatious, and willing to bend the rules for a friend, as long as the offense isn’t too serious. He doesn’t hold grudges long usually, unless one has crossed him too many times, or done something he deems unforgivable. He has a passionate hatred for the CLF, and is willing to throw as many bodies into the meat grinder as possible if it means it will result in victory against them. He is cocky, intelligent, and occasionally detached, though he has occasionally broken down under pressure.

He is usually the rear guard during a retreat, unless pushed or ordered to leave beforehand.

And he’s always willing to put his friends above the mission, even if it means putting himself in harms way.

I’ve had the pleasure of working under Carson for plenty of time. Just remember, do not question his methods, do not poke holes in his plans, do not defy his orders publicly, and keep your throat out of range of his grip at all times. Is that clear, Staff Officer? -Executive Officer Bobby ‘Sharp’ Dickens, educating a new Staff Officer on how to survive in the glorious grouping of officers.

Greetings, comrades! I’m sure we can talk this out and agree to kill the dinosaurs. What do you say? -PFC Bobby ‘Sharp’ Dickens, moments before receiving a hostile reply from UPP boarders.

Updated a bit, I’ll add more to it later.

Feel free to comment, derisively mock, and demand your character be in Bobby’s relationships! When I get to em.

Think I have a few stories on this forum to update first.

Oooo, however 135 for 6'1 is severly malnutritioned and probably means you will die, or need to eat more I recommend 140 at least
