Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Hey there, I'm curious on everyone's opinions of if there was the ability to crawl while on the ground. I'm sick of seeing people in soft crit, but their health HuD green, and unable to move. A slow crawl I think would be a neat addition to help that issue of people unable to move from getting hit twice by acid or other non lethal injuries. You would still be unable to fire or shoot while down.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):Allow soft crit marines to be able to slowly move if abandoned. Soft crit isn't a death sentence.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):If a person is on the ground, using the arrow keys or whatever they use move, every couple of seconds they would move one tile, as if they are crawling, while laying on the floor. Also would be kind of neat to see marines crawling on the ground.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):If a person was on the ground, it would work about the same was moving normally but it would be slower, and they would have the sprite of laying down.

I don't know, I thought it would be interesting if this was added, but I can understand if people don't like this suggestion, let me know below what you think

As long as it allows me to personally look into my victim's eyes as he's crawling away and drag him the way he came while he's still awake for maximum terror, since the entire marine force have abandoned him because xenos.

well for one this would be GREAT if someone was like just outside the FOB and xeno's behind and marines in front practically shooting at you (because we all know marines don't take into account FF very well, also if someone abandons you out in the open and then both sides retreat, it's kind of annoying like KILL ME ALREADY OR SAVE ME ALREADY FOR FUCKS SAKE +1

Pretty sure Hippie has crawling in it where you can crawl in crit at the cost of bleeding while you move, (Dragging yourself across the floor opens up your wounds a tiny bit or something) Also you take brute damage from crawling on glass with even more bleeding, what you could do is have it so that you need to wait ten seconds or so to sort of pull together the strength to crawl a tile if you're really fucked up.

I think it's a good idea. I was just getting ready to say that I think Hippiestation does something like that. I agree with Dirty Old Harry in that I think it should do some damage if you are already wounded just like on Hippiestation. I really like this idea and would like to see it implemented. +1

You know, i did have this idea bopping in my head for crouching, all that it would take would be to cut the sprite of a character in half and super impose it over the legs. pretty much the ol' way video games used to do crouching assets. Its pretty simple code wise if i remember it correctly (scince, all ss13 models have the same height). it looks...intesting when playing with it in mspaint. not bad, but still not as easy to tell. It just makes the character look kinda like a dwarf. Idk, random thoughts.

+1 to crawling though, it'd be interesting to have.

they're already in the game....all they need to do is make it so you can move whilst in prone at a major speed debuff, hell they could easily make it so its only able to be done in soft crit.

Well, the art asset suggested in this one is just to use the prone sprite, which is the sprite flipped 90*. the complicated part is typing out how "crawling" interacts with all the other pieces of code, such as bleeding, passing out, rest, etc.

I love the way it works on stations like hippie where if you're in crit or something you can slowly (albeit painfully) crawl towards safety.
