Description of the incident:

So round kicks off, I'm XO, and we have a CO who wants to enact a brilliant battle plan that focuses on making the main battle area surrounding LZ2. This plan can be viewed here - https://gyazo.com/069b9ec8bf4940a71e679f9b0e44cbd0

All SLs and engines report to bridge at the start and are briefed separately from their squads. We monitor the squads deployment, and I notice Alpha team seems to be neglecting their duties and focusing on Nexus and Hydro. We message them on the squad comms, to head back to the FOB near LZ2. Some of alpha listens, and others do not. Noticeably, the Alpha SL - Apache, and a few of his marines, starts to get supplies from med dome and take them to central nexus after repeated warnings not too. Commander tries to contact him over the radio, and is ignored. I try to message him over the squad monitor, and am ignored. Some of his marines are saying that Apache is intentionally disobeying orders, after a few more tries trying to organize Alpha squad, I talk to the commander about relieving Apache from duty, with me to take his place once he is detained. He agrees. I get a MP to join me on this mission, we board the rasp, and agree to ask nicely before force is used.

We arrive on the planet. We find Apache in nexus with a few of his marines. We ask him politely that the commander has noticed he has been neglecting his mission, and would like to speak with him on the bridge. (notice at this point, no hostile actions have taken place, besides a MP and myself being present) I tell him I am on the planet to take charge of his squad while he sorts it out with the commander. Apache declines. I tell him it isn't a request and is a direct order. He declines again. At this point, the MP says he would rather not have to detain him forcefully and to just comply and be transported to the Rasp. At this point, a colonist gets inbetween the MP, myself, and the Apache threatening us. I tell all of alpha on their radio to stand down, and the Alpha SL is being escorted to the bridge to talk with the commander. I flash my ID multiple times so they know I"m the XO and I'm here to take charge of their squad. MP tries to make the arrest using just the handcuffs, and is pushed down. Then MP tries to taze, and the colonist starts to fire, I return fire and injure the colonist. While Apache is down, other marines keep dragging him away as he is getting handcuffed and pushing the MP (not with disarm, but moving him with their bodies) to prevent him from successfully arresting Apache. MP shoots the colonist with a tazer, and apache, and another marine who keeps pushing MP. I standby.

Then one of the marines tosses a flashbang near us. Everyone gets knocked down.

MP chases Apache, who is armed with a wielded rifle. MP gets disarmed a couple of times. Someone with a rifle gets disarmed (I believe it was Apache) and it goes off in the struggle. MP finally arrests Apache, and starts to drag him away while he is getting pushed and getting fierce resistance from marines. I tell them to stand down, and flash my ID multiple times. Marines are still trying to free Apache. MP is near LZ1 approaching the rasp with Apache, when I see another SL (from a different squad) run up to the MP and attack him. (according to admin PMs he pushed/disarmed the MP)

At this point enough was enough, flashbangs, gunshots, and another rogue SL interfering with this arrest, I took my rifle and unloaded an entire AP mag into the SL interfering, which happened to be Xur.

Some of alpha returned fire, Apache got free, MP was killed decapped, I was put into crit.

We gave them all multiple peaceful options. Then multiple warnings. Then when we finally did detain him, we were met with lethal force. Then ... gunshots. At this point me and the MP fired on the marines that were helping Apache (while others stood by and watched who we avoided firing upon). I'm not sure why Xur was interfering with this arrest, but he had no reason to be there, and no reason to intervene. IMO, it was a legitimate arrest, and he broke serious RP by disobeying a MP and XO who were relieving another SL for disobeying his mission objectives.

I got ahelped and warned saying I used letahl force too quickly, and I disagree entirely. Many marines were present watching this unfold, and command was watching from the helmet cam. Admins said they were going to provide logs, so we will wait and see. That's all, thank you for reading this.

Well, I previously warned Alpha SL that MPs were coming to arrest us both due to the COs orders. We refused to simply leave the Nexus alone since its a major point of supply and defense for marines as a whole. When the rasp landed I hid away to not be noticed at first then I checked the Nexus when I heard the tazer fire and Alpha SL was being detained because he was securing the Nexus. I had informed my squad prior to not take any action against them. When I saw the LZ being dragged away, I disarmed the MP, then shortly after I got killed by the XO out of nowhere. I don't know what happened after being killed, I was told that the XO and the MP got killed for Killing me.

Okay I'm going to point out you missed a couple of vital logs that DID IN FACT OCCUR that are EXTREMELY RELEVANT.

These events occured in this order:

1. Me and the commander, did contact Alpha squad telling them to return to their mission objectives multiple times. MULTIPLE TIMES.
2. After they ignored our request, I contacted Apache from the squad monitor message system directly.
3. Me and the MP when we arrived asked Apache verbatim - "The commander would like you to to report to the bridge to discuss issues with your mission objective" "I refuse" "That's not a request, it's a direct order!" "I'm not going" at which point, MP threatens to use force if needed.
4. I explain to alpha what is happening via radio, and that Alpha SL is being detained peacefully, and I'm here to replace him as a temporariy SL
5. I present my ID confirming that I am the XO and in the room with the marines and MP, to show command is here in person
6. In the admin PM's I posted that the colonist had fired his weapon, and it missed and hit Ana. Also another gun went off while someone was being disarmed. A flashbang was thrown at us.

By the time I c/p'd my logs most of the initial confrontation was gone, so this starts towards the end when Apache is handcuffed and being escorted to the rasp, when the MP and myself are attacked.

Ana was shot by the colonist, and is being treated with medical splints. Christopher Odd attacks me and the MP while Apache is being taken to the Rasp. Xur jumps out of nowhere and starts to push the MP.

Admin PMs, marine radio chatter, and people trying to figure out what happened in the aftermath. Some marines said I fired first, others said I didn't. Some of the marines that were hit in the crossfire thought I went rogue and started shooting everyone.

I was Valeria, the Doctor when this happened near Nexus Chapel in my field medbay.

I can confirm that the XO spammed his ID so much that it covered my entire chat screen two times over, so there was no way they didn't get the hint. I was gunna ahelp him spamming his ID, but he stopped after spamming it two times over, so I went back to surgery I was doing.

As a warning, things get a bit messy, as I am unable to tell where people are in relation to one another, and what is and isn't radio chatter. Furthermore I am unable to see things such as the XO flashing his ID. So please keep this in mind.

This is where things get tricky. A messy incident occurs, so I will summarise it:

MP Elena tazes SL Adam to handcuff him and bring him in.
The Colonist Kyunseok shoots Cpl Ana Morgan with a shotgun. Cpl Ana believes that she was shot by the MPs and declares them to be rogue. XO Rocco shoots the colonist with his smartgun. The MP tazes the colonist and Cpl Ana.
Someone throws a flashbang(?)
Cpl Ana and Colonist Kyunseok are now claiming that the MP and XO have opened fire upon them, fuelling the incident. The Colonist was handcuffed at some point and is asking the marines to uncuff him. The marines refuse to do so.
Christopher Odd and SL Xur arrive and start disarming the MP. Per Xur's above post, he hid out of sight until he heard the taser fire and intervened once he saw the SL being taken aboard the Rasputin. After approximately 4-5 disarms, XO Rocco opens fire on Xur with AP ammunition.
Christopher Odd returns fire and is fired upon by XO Rocco. Jason Prescott is caught in the crossfire.

SL Adam calls out how the MP and XO are firing upon marines and have killed SL Xur. XO Rocco is contacted by a moderator. MP Elena states that there is no need for further violence.
SL Adam opens fire on MP Elena and XO Rocco. Rocco dies whilst PMing the moderator, Elena is ultimately decapitated.

The only reason I opened up on you and the marine was the fact that you had just shot and killed Xur who had not fired or even wielding a gun in the whole fight. Did he disarm you to free me, sure, but did you over escalate the situation by shooting him repeatedly until he was laying in his own pool of blood? Then you expect my character to think, "Ahh these guys just shot and killed that guy, but I am sure I will be alright!" No he saw you use lethal force so he in return used lethal force. The whole situation was a mess because after the fire I had half of my squad open up on me due to the CO saying over comms that anyone who killed me was going to get armory access which I am pretty sure you can't authorize anyway, but that is for another time.

Now start of the mission when you and the CO were telling everyone the plan everyone agreed that it was not the best plan and they would like to go with something different, think there was only one SL that agreed, but most of the engineers and SL's said that your "iron curtain" was not a good idea and that we should do something else. The CO and you both insisted that was the plan you were going to go with and when we were heading out of the room, due to Xur disagreeing you told a MP to arrest Xur for disagreeing, so both of your leadership was already getting called into question in the fact that you were arresting a SL (or attempted to since he made it to the ground anyway) that anyone who disagreed with you. You argued with me a bit on the ship before we went down when I said we were doing a sweep of the colony first before we would set up defenses, but because you and the CO had talked in deadchat the previous round about building your jungle fort you were so gung ho about not listening to what others were saying.

Now skip ahead to the survivor, myself and a few other marines and medics were actually trying to talk to him due to walking into the nexus while we were setting up the medical center, so the fact that the guy who was talking to him was suddenly tazed by a mp probably not showing him the best of the colonial marines in front of him, but I won't defend his actions in all of this. That being said, the problem is the way you handled the situation, at least in my opinion, don't mind getting tazed, kinda of a normal thing when you have bad commanders and Xo's, but I digress. The fact that when Xur disarmed the mp's you immediately shot up a SL who was unarmed instead of trying to get other marines or even just pushing/disarming him yourself you used lethal force escalating the situation to lethal force. Which could be seen as improper escalation of force if that is still a rule.

Just my thoughts yea the situation was horrible and it was a mess for everyone since the marine's operation pretty much went to crap, but the thing is that the fact that Xur and myself at the briefing had disagreed with your plan and decided on the shuttle that we were going to just run things in a different manner, there is no rule that says marines have to follow every word of command, we aren't like the xenos mate. Heck some of my marines agreed with me and helped fortify the nexus instead of rushing to Lz2 like you kept yelling over comms at my squad because they thought it was a dumb idea too. So I will admit it was wrong to shoot both the MP and you, but after you shot up Xur who was unarmed and the mp charging at me with a stunbaton (who have tried to keep her alive otherwise) the situation was qualified to use lethal force and not like I got away with it scot free in game since the CO said the whole whoever kills me gets armory access and I was also told that Delta squad was ordered to kill me and my whole squad, many of whom were still just building up defenses at the time. That ordered could have had alpha marines who were at LZ2 get gunned down for no reason and could have created a lot of a-helps about marines killing them for no reason or not a valid enough reason then, "Well some of your squad defended themselves so you had to die."

Wow! That is some great detective work!!! Fills in a lot of the blanks as to what exactly was happening. I had no clue CO wanted Xur to be arrested as well. I thought Xur's actions were completely random, and he was just randomly assaulting a MP since I believed at the time he had no relevance to the situation. (which is also why I fired on him) The fact that he was being threatened with arrest from the CO, adds a vital detail that I wasn't aware off at the time of me posting this complaint. With that said, I'd say he'd be within a grey area of RP guidelines of preventing Alpha SL from being detained, as he himself was a party affected by this.

I retract my complaint, and am glad this is all cleared up. I know one of the admins said I was receiving a warning initially when I explained everything, so I was partly frustrated because of that as other people had fired first initially, throwing a grenade, and lots of pushing/shoving while a prisoner was trying to be peacefully detained.

I was Delta SL that game and I already knew you two didn't like the idea of LZ2 being used as a FOB instead of the nexus but I thought it would have been fun trying something new for once with the CO's plan of constructing barriers along the paths for safe passage too all the major buildings. I feel like the CO's orders should have been carried out from the start and probably assesed later on depending on how things went. Delta paid the price at hydroponics with only a handful of marines remaining due to the lack of reinforcements probably delayed because of the shitstorm in nexus. I know you guys always like sticking to the same old shit of making the FOB at nexus and or LZ1 and moving on from there but this was a lost oppurtunity to try a new strategy and we'll never know it worked out because nobody tried.

I was the CO that round, I'm pretty sure I authorized marines to shoot the Alpha SL on sight AFTER he killed both the XO and MP. This was mainly down to having no remaining MPs on the vessel, and the fact that my attempt to detain him led to the murder of my XO and my only other MP.

On the regards to the LZ plans, I wanted to try a new strategy (The same way I started doing the old telecomms strategy, that became meta, remember?) and it's a shame two of the 4 SLs were unwilling to try something new, if only for a simple break from the usual SECURE NEXUS, HOLD LZ1 routine. The fact two squad leaders decided to pretty much ignore the CO as soon as deployment to begin is beyond disappointing from a roleplay perspective. It just shows arrogance to be quite honest. Squad Leader is as much as a roleplay role as BO,XO and CO. At least try to follow the chain of command from round start, if your loyalty beings to waiver as the operation continues, so be it.

On the note of Xur being detained for "disagreeing", you were actually detained for telling your CO to "Suck a dick" in the middle of briefing, the further orders for detainment were due to your failure to follow orders.

Overall, I'm rather disappointed in Xur and Apache for their actions, it shows they care more about mechanically winning than anything else,

Before this complaint is recanted, I skimmed through the information provided, and here's my take: Given that Command was present, active, and fairly competent based on their interactions, there was no reason to simply ignore their orders and create conflict. Part of playing an SL is following Command orders and communicating with Command officers in carrying out those orders (command channel radio? supply drops via overwatch consoles?). The orders were reasonable and communicated to everyone. Two SLs intentionally went against them because they wanted to do their own thing. While not the subject of the actual complaint, that's a problem. Furthermore, Xur is whitelisted to play CO, and here he is ignoring orders from the CO and interfering with a lawful arrest. That's also a problem.

But its another thing to ignore orders because your normal META strategy cant be done that round. You wouldnt ignore orders at round start when you have 0 idea what your threat is or the most optimal base.

If I may just defend our decision to go against the CO, as I said before we were not the only SL's or members of the marine force to voice our disagreement with the plan that was put into play nor could you really blame them. Although I respect the CO had a new strategy he wanted to try as well as cool map with it being drew on there on what he wanted to do, which not many CO's do so tip of the hat to that. However to go with a plan to set up a fire base in a jungle over a fortified building seems quite mind boggling to someone who would think military wise. Why would you trade a building that can give you hard cover and allow you to build up quick defenses without having to use a lot of resources. Furthermore the map goes with we don't know anything is wrong with the colony except it had gone dark, the CO somehow was saying there were hostiles already on the ground when the marines don't know if they will encounter a hostile force. Hell most people joke on the rasputin every round it is probably just some dumb colonist who broke the transmitter and no one can get it running again. They have no idea that there is xenos, pirates, commandos, or if it is just a colony that there are people still living in and they just can't maintain their equipment properly. So why would you set up a jungle base using up military resources when it could just be a simple, land, help the colonist fix their transmitter and leave. The marines are suppose to be freaked out when they see a dark colony with no one around, although granted I will admit it sort of loses the effect the more rounds you play, but for new players it is suppose to give you that suspense which you don't get if you build a base in the middle of the jungle instead of the nexus that is designed to look like a horror movie had just happened.

Furthermore the commander had first wanted the squads to use the pod to go down to set up the base, which would make no sense since you have four squads (let's just estimate with sixty marines) who now have to cram into a tiny pod to go down and set up their base when you have the Rasputin that can hold a lot more men and supplies. Now I can admit as a CO when the Lz was at t-comms and engineering I have shut down lz1 and just used lz2 for a supply line, but not right at the start of the mission. We only ended up using the rasputin because Xur and myself ordered our squads to load up on that so we didn't have all the squads piling in on the pod. In real life it just isn't feasible nor is it safe, I am sure we all know moments where someone either trolling or wanting to make a joke will open up one of the pod doors and out shoots three or four marines who are now dead smashed against the surface.

The other problem with said strategy was he wanted no squad to do a little recon and make sure everything was alright, he just wanted us to go down and get to work on the base which again, no military man would think to do because what if it is a bad transmitter? Now you just set up a marine firebase on a planet that just had a broken transmitter and those men now have to deconstruct their whole base because guess what, no one decided to use the primary lz or even manage to look for any colonist to make sure it is just a bad transmitter. Again I don't really blame the CO because last round him and the XO were talking in dead chat on how they wanted to make this amazing firebase in the jungle and hey good on them for wanting to do something different, but my problem is the the way they did it. It makes no sense to not sweep the colony nor set up in any of the buildings that basically if there are enemy soldiers will save you time and resources on building up defenses while you try to figure what the hell happened in the colony.

So I will admit was it wrong for Xur and I to openly rebel against the CO at the start of the op? Arguably although the point can be made that there have been rounds that when people saw Bill Carson was the CO there was a immediately a riot and it had to be quelled by the mp's and other marines, but it happens. There are other times when marines have mutinied in briefing because of the plan that was told to them. Nor were Xur and I actively working against the marine side, there were marines in my squad I can attest that still followed the CO and XO's orders while others agreed with us and worked along with us to fortify the nexus. It was a pain sure, but at the same those marines thought that the plan wasn't a good one either and decided to stick with us, and when we could we helped out the marines who were fighting on the front lines, I sent up a squad of men before going with a few men myself to help the fight in hyrdo and then pushing the xenos towards their hive before getting captured myself. So to say we are to be job banned for disagreeing with a plan when we still helped out the marines just in a different way seems a bit harsh since we were not the only ones who disagreed with the plan.
