Approximate time and date of the incident (Central US Time for fastest results): Around 9PM UTC, Wednesday 15th March

What rule(s) were broken: Predator specific rule 3. (AKA: You are not a murderbone antagonist)

Description of the incident: Nubs was leaving a Marine position, but when the round ended, he turned around and started attacking all Marines in sight for no reason.

I don't think that technically counts since it was round end, if you think about it as a Xeno or a Marine pausing when the round ends, then starts attacking the other. It can't really count as EORG since Preds are not Xeno nor Marine.

The EORG rules are there to preserve the RP at the end of the round. Would a Predator normally turn around and try to kill a group of Marines for no reason?

EORG is only attacking your own race at the end of the round techincally. There is nothing about a predators not being able to attack the side that they haven't hunted during the round.
If you ever wonder when did I really start hating incompetent people read Crab Spider's signature... I was that CMO.

I'm not using the EORG rule as the basis for the report. See: Predator specific rule 3.

EDIT: (Carmac's contribution, he phrases it better.) "What Bolter's getting at is that just because it's the end of the round doesn't mean you have an excuse to go nuts"

I personally agree. This could by technicality be considered EoRG. EoRG is not bound to friendlies attacking friendlies, however its extremely rare for it to be otherwise. It bears further investigation, but the point of the matter seems to be that the predator used the end of the round to suddenly and abruptly attack marines for no discernible reason.

Either way you look at this however, if this is verified this is not acceptable predator behaviour.

I expected this earlier, as it happened on wednesday, though i did encourage anyone concerned to make a report. Both feweh and Forwardslashn have spoken to me in game about this incident, so you can liaise with them, and i'm sure they can tell you more. The long and short of it is that i decloaked at the end of the round, got fired on, attacked the wrong person as there were alot of marines in the small area, and alot of combat, ff and slashing ensued. It wasn't an ideal situation.

Predators are expected to maintain a higher degree of RP and standards.

It would not be ok for them to suddenly decloak at round end and mass murder marines.

Ill look into this a bit further

From what i can infer from these logs is that he went into combat 20 seconds after round end, and attacked marines that were not even hostile to him (couldn't find any attack logs of anne hitting the pred once or jason prescott).

Thanks for the logs. The incident occurred a little while ago now, i distinctly remember decloaking and roaring at round end, and a player (whose name i no longer recall) saying 'oh shit' and firing. I attacked the wrong person, the person standing next to them, and it seems attacked more people wrongly than i recall, and the logs don't lie. I messed up, and i am sorry. I did encourage this report and gave out my ckey and pred name so people could make a report. Thats pretty much all there is to say.

So heres what I've decided after discussing with another Elder Predator.
What Nubs did was poor judgement and not what we want from predators.

It isn't against the rules, or even Predator rules to engage marines after round end.
The marines did fire on him and initiated a response that was warranted of harming.

HOWEVER

It is poor behavior and judgement of a predator player to de-cloak at round end near marines and then attack them.. even if provoked and warranted.

We expect BETTER from Predator players to make smart decisions and this was one of them.
Predator Nubs has been HEAVILY warned regarding this and no further action will be taken.
