Feelings about HG

Post by Butterrobber202 » 30 Mar 2017, 21:10

So, alot of people Love HG and follow it like a Cult. Which is Cool.

Other People, and I quote: "GODDAMN FUCKING HG FUCKING SHIT"
and even some: "I'D RATHER DO GOON ERP THAN PLAY HG".
Even some: "I'd rather play Citadel than play HG.'

Thoughts. Discuss.
(On HG, not ERP)

also, why can't I make polls in General Discussion, ;-;

The new changes have improved HG by x1000. It's actually quite pleasant to play now.

Whenever I see people who say "GODDAMN FUCKING HG FUCKING SHIT" I always think "just let the other guys have fun, you're not the center of the universe" and also, it lasts for AT MOST 40 minutes. Just sit out or actually have fun. All those guys are are entitled assholes who can't have fun doing anything that they don't want to

I myself just don't enjoy it because it is mostly based on RNG. Some people get shitty weapons, others get lucky and find real good shit that helps them dominate.

Now, I know as of recent they removed guns to balance it out so it isn't horribly one-sided, but still... I don't have fond memories of it and don't really feel like I'd enjoy rushing to find decent weapons before someone gets a katana and chops me in but 2 whacks.

Sides, I'm not THAT robust, I'd rather keep to muh arr pee modes.

I don't do well in HG. I don't do ok in HG. I might get 1 kill in HG if I'm lucky. I still think it is fine. Some people have a lot of fun and it's less than a hour. Its nice to have a little break and maybe watch something stupid happen. Its the same thing with WO. Just sit back and wait a hour and we'll go back to 48 hours of Ice or LV.

Just be sure to remember that you're playing with hundreds of people online, so it's not just what you want

Though I can understand this

I wish it was more like Predators the Movie. Pit humans against Predatora on an enlarged Jungle map. As it is right now, I have issues killing people I know so it gives them an upper hand. I usually die via decap or suicide after being mortally wounded.

its nice to unwind with one or two rounds of hungergames
but thats it, though. anything more then two is just too much for me.
but the recent melee update has made it a lot funner for me personally
its also good practice. i learned a lot from just a few rounds.

Supply crates still make you superior (you can get a gun, flamethrower, Commando armor, or even a battle axe that insta crits + ko's in one hit if you wear no armor), so its still kinda shit and this is coming from someone who won with a battle axe once and nearly won by stealing the incinerator from another person.

Guns being put back into HG would only work if more medical supplies + armor spawned randomly around the map, otherwise its just a case of who gets the first gun and pain crits / breaks bones of everyone else first plus it takes much less skill and has less danger involved to it than having to flash someone close up (risking a KO) or throwing a banana peel (risking losing it and having to predict your opponents throw).

For me HG is both less tense and shorter than a WO round; don't really understand why people really get up in arms about it.

Checking logs, the most weve done in the last year is 3 back to back.

Which is less than a normal CM round in total time.

Now that it doesn't have guns, I like it. Meme naming is fun and killing staff is even more fun.

"Meh" quite sums up my feelings, it's fine but I don't care for it too much. Two rounds at most is my limit.

I simply find it annoying that if you are cut once you are essentially dead from bleeding and paincrit. Maybe let everyone start with bandages or something.

Also I get unreasonably annoyed seeing the typical famous players get crazy equipment.

I would rather stick to the RP

Pretty much this here
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

This is likewise where bramb began saying he lives in albania. They additionally continued pinging me with the albanian banner. They called me female. They called me gay. They said I have down disorder. They called me different names too. Also, bramb said he lives in albania when he professes to live in The Netherlands too. Lying again.

It's okay with its current changes. But I think it would be nice if every player began on LZ1 or in the Nexus, rather than a random location.

I can already see this with 100 players...

Oh god.

Double points if two banana peels are spawned under random people and everyone starts punching each others for them.

I like it. Then again, some bias because of the katana spree I went on. It's a nice bit of barely controlled chaos to ease up the usual rounds of Marine - Xeno ultimate wrestling grudge matches of dooooom.

I "Enjoy it" as in, i dont mind playing it, it has a thrill to it, but my robustness is pretty rusty as i main medical rolls, would be nicer if it was a team based thing with a small amount of basic prep (Still no guns but being able to designate a medic or engineer would be interesting) just to add a bit of depth to it other than "grab closest item and bash closest baldie".
