[Xeno] Infection
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Make it so the infection slowly gives you tox damage until it hits 100 tox damage and stays that way near the last stage of infection.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Stops paincritting cheese because now you need a healthy marine to be infected or else they will die with the combined damage of what you did to put them in crit + dragging them to nest + the 100 guaranteed tox damage during incubation. Also gives more use for dylovene and gives more of an indicator that your infected; you know, the fact that your getting eaten out alive from the inside type thing.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Read above.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Coding.

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Re: [Xeno] Infection
I do think infection should be causing organ damage, but 100 tox over time seems like overkill.
1) Toxin damage is the hardest to deal with for revival - a late stage larva removal would take up even more of Medical's time defibbing+dylovening.
2) A couple shots of FF or potentially even just punching could guarantee you die before you pop. I'm almost positive that this could lead to meta abuse where marines stack up just enough damage to be able to try and escape a nest but still end up dying before they burst.

Re: [Xeno] Infection
If you have a better suggestion on how this should work, im all ears, but the fact that you barely get damaged at all while being eaten alive from the inside to support the creation of an alien being from within you is weird as hell.Casgair wrote:I do think infection should be causing organ damage, but 100 tox over time seems like overkill.

Plus the fact that it allows cheese tactics to work like huggering a dude who's in pain crit / near critical.

Re: [Xeno] Infection
The chestburster isn't tearing people up inside as it grows, quite the contrary it grows without harming the host since it requires the host to be in good condition to stay alive. It wouldn't make much sense IC wise if the embryo was actively poisoning its host since if the host dies so does the embryo. The only point in which the embryo harms the host is when the embryo is fully grown and no longer needs to feed off of it so it chestbursts.Swagile wrote:If you have a better suggestion on how this should work, im all ears, but the fact that you barely get damaged at all while being eaten alive from the inside to support the creation of an alien being from within you is weird as hell.

Im uhh... not sure of the particulars of that, considering how a alien being is growing from within you, so I assumed it would hurt like hell and damage parts of your body.Wubs4Scrubs wrote:The chestburster isn't tearing people up inside as it grows, quite the contrary it grows without harming the host since it requires the host to be in good condition to stay alive. Re: [Xeno] Infection
Think of the xeno embryo as a tapeworm, it lies pretty much dormant in the host while leeching away nutrients so it can grow. People can have tapeworms over 10 feet long in their body leeching away at them and not feel any pain whatsoever, the only indication they're infected being the insatiable appetite. If you need some proof of this in action look no further than the original alien movie. The first crew member to get infected has absolutely no idea there is something inside of him and doesn't act strangely until the embryo is right about to come out of his chest.Swagile wrote:Im uhh... not sure of the particulars of that, considering how a alien being is growing from within you, so I assumed it would hurt like hell and damage parts of your body.

Re: [Xeno] Infection
Its really overkill to be honest. I do think that it should cause some organ damage cause it makes a large space in your chest cavity and in one of the games you can't remove them because the host just dies from cancer from such a large space. But I don't think this paticular idea would work.
