Adding a construction change to the xenos

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): As per title, I believe a change is in order for the xenos, since you know, xenos can INSTANTLY build anything they want, even abuse it in the battlefield by spamming walls/sticky resin. EDIT: Increasing the plasma cost up to 100 to build walls and sticky resin.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Helps with "realism" since currently xenos can instantly make matter from thin air and instantly build a wall in front of marines, and this also makes drones have to plan and anticipate events. Prevents abuses with it. Benifits for edit: This will make membranes and doors more viable for outer defenses.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Adding a timer to xeno construction about 5/10 seconds depending on what is being made, doors and membranes should be less time consuming because they are structurally weaker. Anything I didn't say here was already discussed above.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Nope probably has to do with coding.

Editted for the revert, now I'm suggesting balance since xenos can still build out of thin air.

Eh... make a cooldown for Drones and remove the ability for them to create sticky resin?

And make it so that only hivelords/queen can make them? It'd give the hivelord some use besides tunnels at least.

1)making it a time based cooldown reduces the benefits of getting more plasma from upgrades in the first place to being useless

2)we'll never achieve "perfect" realism, and making walls 'out of thin air' is nothing to be weirded out about, I think of them (drones) pooping out trails of walls/sticky as they run around like how shaving cream comes out of the can small and then gets really big, expanding when in contact with air, in other words use your imagination when playing a fictional game to get immersed

3)you say "prevents abuses with it" but really, theres no way to 'abuse' hive building, it can't be glitched or anything and making more walls/resins etc is just the xeno trying to make a good hive as opposed to a area with just flat weeds

4)you say "This will make membranes and doors more viable for outer defenses." It won't. They aren't even supposed to be used in any sort of defence, period. They just get destroyed so easily by marines and this suggestion will not change that, hence it will not change their viability.

5)Drones need to be building so that the queen doesn't have to. And if a Hivelord is a T3 and they're the only ones who can build besides a Queen, that means you're putting a huge amount of player pressure on these 2 xenos, 1 of which reduces the amount of spots available for T3s that can do more than poop endlessly. I'm not saying that hivelords are bad. But if they're necessary in the way this suggestion would make them they shouldn't count towards higher tier evolutions or have the long evolution waiting requirement (like Queens). This suggestion also means that there'll be more of an increase in people begging others not only to be drone but hivelord as well, xenos begging the queen and hivelord (who are both slow) for nests. And of course, twice the chance for these one-of-a-kind important xenos to be complete novices in their important roles and fug up.



the best nerf I can think of to prevent 'muh combat building' is just to prevent drones/others building if they're damaged (the enemy cannot shit if you disable his ass)
