Remove Polycintric Acid

Post by Crab_Spider » 12 Apr 2017, 12:03

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Remove polycintric Acid from the source code

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): There's recently been a rumor going around stating that polycintric acid damaging the xenomorphs, is a bug. But, regardless of whether or not it gets fixed, polycintric acid serves no purpose in CM but to encourage griefing. The chemical completely fucks people over, and just last night, there was an incident where William "Jester" Crimson (or solidfury7) had to deal with shitler, greytide, Marines and doctors, one of which made a chemsprayer filled with the very chemical we're talking about, guess what happened.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Per title.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Coding.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Remove "fun" you mean.

Plus the admin team got the whole "picking people up to let them knife the hugger off their face" thing wrong as well via a "rumour" and every admin suddenly started banning for it.

Yet it turns out it wasn't a bug at all.

Up to higher management to respond, though.

What exactly is "fun" about it?

There are situations where the marines fight things other than xenos. I think it would be pretty fun to use acid sprayers and acid gas grenades against iron bears and the like.
Some guy.

Are you trying to imply that reducing almost all types of equipment and some fixtures to grey piles of goo is anything less than hilarious for all parties involved?

I remember over two years ago when research was essentially a grenade factory for acid smoke grenades and it was a blast. I have no idea how chemistry has evolved as a combat role since but in my eyes it should be there. The advantage the xenos have is that they are superior physically, they are incredibly robust and can easily take innumerable marines in hand to hand combat. The advantage for humans is their minds, our ability to develop technology to make up for our lack of robustness and mortality is what makes us great. So what if a xeno can take us in hand to hand combat, we'll just develop a cool gun to do the fighting for us. I know I've gone way off topic here but I guess the removal of chemistry as a weapon or classifying it as a bug is kind of a microcosm of the issue regarding taking away from the strongest weapon in the human's arsenal, our brains.

This is not removing chemistry, its removing a compound that melts all organic and inorganic things except for xenos. In another sense, I give a +1.

-1, i like having options for stuff even though they may be extremely rarely to be used (leroxin, ethnolyzineaheisje, etc). Its what gives this game an ss13 freefrom feel instead of a AAA ride the rails approach to stuff.
Gaze upon me,
for I have wandered deep into the ancient tombs of knowledge to which lie madness and sorrow, cleansing a path for all those who walk behind me...

...

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

Lexorin was removed (if not what's the recipe so I can abuse it?)

Lexorin doesn't work, I think. I am pretty sure I had someone test it at somepoint. Most of the wiki is still getting updated.

But I am going to give a +1 to the OP.
