Gunshots came from all around, the entire squad hadn’t even got out the dropship and bullets were going past. The squad took cover behind whatever they could, rocks, the dropship, anything they could hide behind.
YOUR ORDERS SIR! shouted Snieder, trying to shout over the bullets whizzing in.
UH….KIRBY! TRY AND SPOT THE TARGETS WITH THE SMARTGUN! TEMPLE, SNIPE ANY TARGETS KIRBY FINDS

Kent wasn’t even sure anyone could hear him. It was absolute chaos down there. The squad was scattered, shooting in every direction, the engineers trying to get makeshift defences ready from whatever they could, medics we’re trying to tend to the first ones out the rasp who got shot. Kent is still in the rasp, trying to figure out a plan of luring them out.

Then it stopped….the gunfire ceased, the squad regrouped. All that could be heard was a few moans from Stemberg and Shields, who were the first ones out the dropship.The men gathered themselves, trying to figure out what just happened. After a few minutes of standing around, Kent started to order the men around.
alright...let's stay here until we know the threat has pulled out. Kirchner, I want you to set up makeshift defences, Kent and Svarlson I want you two to watch the east for contacts. Kirby, I want you behind those two, looking out for any contacts. Temple, find yourself a good sniping spot and sit there, lay down some traps behind you also. I’ll call you on the radio when we’re about to move out. The squad began work as soon as Kent stopped speaking. Meanwhile, Kent was getting a lay of the land. It was a rough land, rocky and uneven. There was rocks his squad could use as cover, even a destroyed ruin close by, no point fortifying there though, all there is over there is a small corner of a wall, they’d be better off by the rasp, at least then the medics have a safe place to treat wounded.

Kent was pondering in the dropship. What exactly were they fighting? There’s no way these are your run of the mill rebels...maybe its members of that highly trained rebel cell, the legion of something. Who knows, but there is absolutely no way these are standard rebels, too coordinated, too well trained. If they were standard rebels, half those shots would’ve hit the rocks 10 feet away from any member of the squad and the fire would’ve been non-stop. No, their shots were precise, controlled. Maybe its a merc group hired by some rebels. Kent soon stopped realising it doesn’t matter who their fighting, they took the planet and him and his squad were sent to retake it.All that matters is they get the job done.

After an hour or two, Kent ordered the men to hide the dropship with rocks and things, before setting off for the colony. The two marines who were injured were all patched up now and ready to fight. Kirby led the men in the front with the smartgun, constantly locking onto small critters running past the squad. They walked slowly towards the colony, getting lower and lower as they got closer to avoid getting shot by any rebels on lookout.Kent ordered them to stop and told Shields to take out the motion detector and to scan the colony for the friendly squad.
The squad started to whisper to each other, trying to figure out who exactly attacked them back there.
maybe it was the Legion, they love messing with us don’t they? Kirchner suggested
nah, why would they attack a backwater mining OP? Maybe it's some new race attacking us with some voodoo magic, who the fuck knows?
does it really matter? All the matters is the fact they attacked us, that means we’ll kill the fucks next time we see em

Kent nodded, then started to order the squad into a breaching formation by the backdoor of the building.

the door swung open. It was the friendly marine squad….at least someone around here was friendly
