Life saver bag in suit storage, or as a backpack, to double usefulness of medics.

Post by rapidboy9 » 14 Apr 2017, 22:16

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Life saver bag, ability to equip not just on your belt slot, seeing as there is a medical belt that could go int hat slot. But making to so the bag can be used in suit storage.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It would help medics and thus help marines. Yes the lifesaver bag has a few rows of extra slots. But you are in a way limited to how many quick clots, or bicardine shots you can carry, if you do what I do. Which is carry both the bag. (at the moment it's in one hand becuase it can't be equipped in an area to really help me.) and the medical belt, you can carry double the chems to be more effective. Quickly figuring out that running out of meds is usually gonna happen especially in high pop rounds when you are the only medic for six or seven critical marines. I load up my belt with bottles, usually two of each, from bicard, kelo, dex, and tram. Then, in my lifesaver bag. Im able to once you get power on planet, get to medical load up on quick clots usually more then five, or six along with six bicards and two or three dex, along with mainly kelo's. It makes it better as far as medics go due to it giving them more chems and less time to worry about what chems they need to kind of minimally use on who.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): As previously listed above, the benefits for a medic are double chems, and as a medic your main job is supporting. I've seen a few combat first medics that usually end up fucking the other squads up. If you have a medic that can load up with chems, it makes it way easier to focus on the job as a medic. Fixing peoples shit.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Just make it a backpack option, or a suit storage option. Preferably the suit storage option is ideal. Not sure how to implement it, but i'd say a patch or a code. But honestly, im not tech savvy idk if it would be easy or not. It's just a suggestion. The implementation if it's granted is for the admins to make happen.

A combat lifesaver bag is meant to replace the Medic Belt. It allows you to carry more medical supplies, but they are more specific. When you grab the CLS bag instead of a medical belt, you are making the decision to be able to perform faster treatments, but less of them.

It's functioning, as intended, and I don't really forsee a change to it soon. There may be some other adjustments one day soon though.

Cool, thanks for the quick shut down of the idea lol jk, i see the point to pick one or the other... But honestly im picking both which was my point. It's a bag and as such it should be worn as a bag.

-1. Think of the logistics of this. One would not logically fumble around behind them to pull out medicine at random, which is a reason I'm a fan of the satchel as well as the CLS. If you are already wearing a belt, its hard to wear a satchel over it.

Az, I have thought of the logic... As well as having family members that are 98W in the army. They have huge bags, when they get to a patient just like I do as an EMT, Im carrying around a bag full of iv's meds, and bp cuffs along with a few various other tools that help a patient depending on the situation. When you arrive on scene, you put the bag down and open it all while talking to the patient. Getting a SAMPLE history which is an emt term to find out what is going on. It's a bag. You should be able to wear it like a bag. It could even go on your backpack. The satchel doesn't give any benefits to the backpack. It just looks different. Im proposing the idea to be able to wear it as a bag. Either in suit storage, or on your back as a backpack. A belt is around your waist. A bag is on a shoulder. Unless they make a fannypack, which would of course be legendary.
