White Phosphorus Rounds Alteration

Summary: I propose that White Phosphorus rounds be changed so that when they detonate on a tile (or target) that they blanket a 7x7 or 8x8 area around the centre of the explosion with high intensity flame/fire akin to a Flamethrower or Incendiary Grenade. The flame effects would last for either as long or slightly longer than the average incendiary grenade.

Benefits: Right now WP rounds are in a awkward spot in my opinion, they have a extraordinarily niche use (only time I've seen it work is on a stunned alien) and are typically only use seriously when a SADAR Spec has no other rockets left to fire.

I believe this change will promote WP rounds to be a very effective area denial weapon, and make them a rocket to actually seriously consider using in battle instead of a reject rocket you use as a last ditch when cargo is MIA. These rockets can also work just as well for the xenos as the humans, if a bad Spec fires a WP rounds too early it could bring a entire Marine offensive to a halt and give xenos enough of a chance to pull back, and vice versa.

Literally this. You have absolutely no reason to load WP when you can load another AT instead as they have the same hitbox. Make WP viable again.

Only reason to roll WP is to take down Crushers, and even that is ineffective as fuck due to how flames work.

Xenos on a weed tile that also have Recovery pheremone on them literally cannot burn to death for some reason; have seen that happen both as a spectator, marine, AND as a xeno who has been flamed and WP'd.

White Phosphorus is a rocket thats great against crushers as it sets them on fire. I've been hit with WP as a marine and I was instantly set on fire.

-1 I think its fine as it is now and it looks and does what WP does.

I really have no idea as to what you're on about. Getting hit by a WP rocket as a human doesn't spell instant death. But getting hit by an AT rocket as a human instantly kills you. WP is really only used as a last resort type of rocket as hitting crushers with AT is much more viable as it dishes out the damage instantly instead of giving it passively.

Setting crushers on fire doesn't even help seeing as how they have roughly 20 seconds to put it out/get on weeds because weeds somehow manage to out-heal the damage.

Last time I used a WP Rocket I direct hit a Crusher, the Crusher just walked away.

Unless I'm missing something I don't think a direct hit with a WP round does anything to a target, it just sets the tile on extreme fire.

Basically, the tile it hits is set on fire, and around...5x5 or 4x4 radius around it is ignited, if you are a marine, this makes you nearly covered entirely on fire, so you need either a lot of shaking or fire extingusher to put it out, while a alien...can instantly run away far and far, get regen pheromones and resist

I haven't used a SADAR for a super long time. But the last time I got hit by WP I was combusted instantly by it.
