about the specialist

Post by wolph123 » 16 Apr 2017, 09:17

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):

i've done a survey over the past week where i queued for the specialist role every round for 6 hours a day, the results were that i got specialist 3 times over the whole week, and i've encountered 5 specialists who did not know what they were doing, aka leaving their gear in their locker, taking the B18 because they thought they could take every weapon in the locker, i think in order for anyone to play specialist they would need to have over 10 hours of gameplay on the server, same goes for minor command roles and SL
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):

less baldie specs killing their squads, less command not knowing what they are doing, better gameplay

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

i think this would be a great add to the server seeing how specs killing their squads by accident is such a common thing, or SLs not taking their armor and being a general pain in the ass to deal with.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

a minor code change

+1, i hate seeing bald SADAR users finally load the SADAR only to decapitate a marine because young runner (70) ran past to drop some huggers

Nice idea but this needs to be looked at a bit more and the times need to be tweaked.

I'm sick of seeing an M56 Spec taking a backpack and SL's that take the normal Marine suit of armour.

Give a tweak to the times and such and i'll give my support.

That one old man that USED to run around as Engineer building retarded table forts and developing relationships on a questionable level with sentry turrets. Now I run around as someone equally stupid, doing equally stupid shit as a Medic. Oh and Pookie, that's also me.

http://prntscr.com/grdigl I totally succeeded in that btw, it was a badass kick-flip.

All I would suggest is to do what we do on servers like /tg/ where roles like Specialist are restricted behind a five or seven day played time.

Sure, it has loopholes to get around it. But it'll serve its purpose of keeping a day one fresh person away from taking a very important role like Spec or SL and screwing it over.

+1

I'm tired of seeing bald SADARs wasting rockets in runners that are literally 3 times faster then a normal human and smartgun specs taking backpacks.
I play Sydney 'Lilly' Wood, the totally not depressed doctor, And the marine Dylan Bell, that probably joined the USCM by accident.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions related to research.

Sounds good, I don't really have any issues with SL and spec being time locked.
"Memories can be vile. Repulsive little brutes, like children I suppose. But can we live without them? Memories are what our reason is based upon. If we can't face them, we deny reason itself! Although, why not? We aren't contractually tied down to rationality. There is no sanity clause. So when you find yourself locked down in an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember: There's always madness. You can just step outside and close the door, and all those dreadful things that happened, you can lock them away. Madness... is an emergency exit."

We do not have timelocks and will not have them for the foreseeable future. Denied.
