Summary: We all know that In every game's community there are a minority of foul powergamers that will do anything to rack up the points/kills. I believe for a while now that some players are taking advantage of CM's full darkness not completely concealing color (if you observe sand or rock as a ghost with no light source in sight, you will be able to see Xeno movement through the full darkness). As a Xeno player, there have been several instances where hiding far from visible light, I have been spotted from across the screen and shot at. It's rare admittedly, but has happened(Without a Smartgun). I thought this annoying but never brought it to attention because I thought to myself too it was probably luck. But there have been instances where running away in complete darkness, I was leaded by bullet burst, and i believe some players are exploiting this to get kills. I think that CM's lighting system, as in other SS13 servers, should render full darkness completely black, to not reveal any colors below, so that players cannot exploit no light levels.
Benefits: By doing this you will be able to ensure that powergamers cant exploit the small light either with high contrast video to hunt Xeno's in full darkness.

Re: Darkness
This is preety true, not even just powergamers, any time for example, you are moved in rasp or teleported somewhere, you can JUST BRIEFLY see all sprites, and i managed to spot a Queen this way who took a ride on rasp, and even a larva at one point when we were leaving, which was hiding in the door, and at one point, found a dying crusher that was a room away because i climbed a ladder up.
In darkness, since not all tiles are fully dark, with either high as fuck visibility or very good eyes, you can see the xenos moving or their sprite standing in there, i even was able to see cloaked hunters that were 1 tile away from full black on tile, and accurately predict
+1, while i find this to be noice as a marine, i must admit that its super annoying as fuck for the xenos, and since i played xeno, i found out how it feels...it feels painful.

Re: Darkness
There is no evidence of this, nor is it a thing that's actually possible with server-side lighting. The current lighting system does not allow any sort of exploiting outside of hacking the server itself. Invalid and denied.
