Hall of Fame?

Post by dillonbunten » 24 Apr 2017, 05:12

Hello all,

Forgive me if I have never seen it, but do we have a hall of fame or a proper record of the best things to have happened in game?

I think that some rounds have been so memorable that it would be great if there was an area in the forums where specific events could be documented/screenshotted etc in order to preserve what happened.

A couple of examples: I remember the epic last stand of Lisa 'Hotshot' Taylor in one of the escape pods at the end of a round. She was the last surviving marine and had managed to construct a very large table in order to run across it and keep the ayyys at bay whilst holding out in the pod. After a few waves of xenos including T3's, several were dead and the salt levels were approaching lethal. While dodging acid clouds and the schreeches and charges by crushers, Lisa managed to inflict severe casualites on the ayys until the inevitable could be delayed no longer....

God rest her brave, sexy soul......

I also recall the only ancient ravager i have ever seen. The round had progressed fairly normally, but the marines had gained the upper hand mainly due to a defensive mindset utilising copious amount of claymore mines hidden under dead young runners and other debris from the fighting. This took its toll on alien numbers until they were whittled down to a queen, ravager and a few other hardy xenos.

This is when the fighback started... One by one, overconfident marines looking for personal glory were flayed mainly by the queen/ravager combo and once it was too late, the planetside marines were retreating back to the Sulaco. This wasnt enough though. The dropship was borrowed, and this handful of aliens was on the sulaco cutting down baldies like nothing youve ever seen. The ravager must have gotten through about 80 all in all, even after the queen died. Limbs littered the upper decks, you would have been forgiven for thinking that you had stumbled onto the 'manakin factory' server by accident.

In all seriousness, I think that a record of the best/funniest events would be a great idea, especially in order to showcase he game to newer members. What does anyone else think? please let me know.

We do have a 'Hall of Victory' as shown here: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=4661

Though as noted it is chronically underused.
This is war, survival is your responsibility.
