Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):i think that the sniper should have some buffs, for example a stun would be amazing, you wouldn't exactly keep standing after getting hit by a sniper shot no matter what you are, in screen shake that happens when you get hit by a shotgun slug would be great too

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):more immersion, better snipers?

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):screen shake when hit by a sniper, knock down for 2 seconds (only if not incid bullet)

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):slight code change

This was denied as the marksman rifle received an increase in rate of fire, and that increase is less than 2 seconds. You can see the flaw in this mechanic with that very detail, and snipers have magazine sizes of 15, it takes 3 bullets played straight on weeds to crit a Hunter (Matured).
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. Screen shake would be a interesting mechanic to try out.

Snipers are more of a weapon of fear than killing. A good sniper can make Xenos fearful of stepping out of cover as a single shot can split off half your health and force you back to heal for a while.

Tell that to the fucks that constantly say a weapon is a terrible because it takes too long to kill*

*Yeahhh that's basically the point. Weeds take awhile to heal you and I've noticed my own regen is bad even with recovery. A screen shake similar to being shot with shotgun rounds (slugs or buckshot) would be pretty cool and reinforces the principle of snipers, no stuns though.

I agree. I think right now the Sniper is in a sort of ok place. Its not top tier like the SADAR or Smartgun, but its not in the trash tier with the B18 and Grenade Launcher. It sits in a comfortable spot just below the SADAR/Smartgun but well, well, above the B18/Nade Launcher

The Sniper is meant for a more recon/suppressing role oriented Specialist. He has fantastic visability of the battlefield, can either come with a tarp for sneaky recon or a powerful mod 88 that can wreck your day, and his sniper is a fantastic tool of fear and suppression when used right.

Screen shake is the only suggestion I would make to buff the Sniper.

I think shots at a certain range should take you off your feet (from a sniper). Maybe about 6 tiles distance? But then again, Stun and Sniper wouldn't really go together that well. Say you hit a xeno and stun them, you have to wait to fire again. They'd get up by that time and already be moving. There is no way to get that kill for certain from the range you are at. And as for other marines, they risk the chance of getting shot by you if they are that close or getting picked off by xenos. Maybe there would be the odd kill due to stun from a sniper but I doubt there would be that many. BUUUUUUUUTT then again, I have been wrong in the past. So meh.

having a sniper spec is fine, but when we get 3 snipers constantly thats cancer, maybe we need a cap on spec weapons

The sniper already got a buff, it's got a higher firing rate now and is perfect for suppressing the xenos, moment one steps out of cover into the light half his health is shaved off and has to retreat back to cover.

added features for it is fine, having 3 sniper specs is not the server's nor the weapons fault, have specs communicate a little.
