New class, COMMTECH

Post by Tristan63 » 25 Apr 2017, 08:39

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Tired of being unable to track those peaty mercs in the maintence tunnels? Tired of being flanked by one hostile and retreating? Communications technician, or COMMTECH. These Lance Corporals are trained to be communications experts and are adept with tcomms and the use of motion trackers. We have requisioned four, one for each squad.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): give marines trackers and a new class for handling tcomms traffic. Creates a new and important role for marines that can be a double sided sword.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): a new section for the COMMTECH would be made and have his own locker slash vendor. Inside would be a M213 motion tracker that functions similar to the pre alpha one, a long range radio bag or LRRB, that can communicate over long ranges. And 3 ASD beacons from WO to drop ammo, though it would be a nerfed of AP and special ammos.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

What kind of trackers we talking about? Motion Trackers or what?

Seems a very niche class, Squad Leaders are already meant to be the ones in contact with command, and communications is usually just a quick engi patch job.
This is war, survival is your responsibility.

Alan Bentway: Marine
Kwei Ikthya-de: Predator

Yes motion trackers from pre alpha, with range nerf. This class would be more of a support role that can be a tide turner, for better or worse

We do not have motion trackers. Denied.
