[Almayer] Central AI

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Allow for players with a whitelist to be the Almayer's central AI.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
This will allow for 1 more player to partake in the round.
This would give a much different role, full of opportunity.
This would tackle one of the deep desire for sci-fi robots that the community crave for.
Would prove useful for an amazing amount of events.
This'd help the players in getting tactical and operational assistance, depending of the implementation.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Here's a select idea on how it could be implemented, dev's discretion on addition and substractions, core idea is to implement the AI after-all.

Basic fonctionalities:
  • Talk and answer queries asked by the crew.
  • Being subverted by hostile agents.
  • Navigate through the camera system.
  • Raise the alarm to blue.
  • Broadcasting queried messages.
Advanced fonctionalities:
  • Query self-destruct.
  • (Unsure) Use linked equipment (Requires linking, armement and doors linked)
  • Upload its software into 5 separate disk for transfer.
  • Manipulate the crew datas.
  • Manipulate emergency systems.
  • Playing scottland the brave in 8-bit.

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Yes. Id love to be a AI. I dont want Unthinking and caring AI either i want like Halo style Cortana AI. Personality. +1 id love to be a Guinea pig.

Fucking Yes, my wet dream of 2017 is to play a CM AI.

Should get 1 face screen on the Bridge for chat with the Command staff (like a holopad, but with very shitty tech)

But you'd need to be pretty strict with Rules and Whitelisting, and AI peeps would need a possible Sub-Forum. Like, if we could make WY Protocols that only AI Whitelisted players can see (kinda like how Pred players hide their weapons) and they can not mention them outside that forum.

I don't know how the AI would work all that well, though I know Servers do use a AI player as its AI unless there's none currently available to assume the role but I +1 this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL5ZVljj4vg

Doesn't need to have a face or any visual representation. At worse you could even have a menu that updates with the input output of the AI and queries so that it does like Alien 1.

It's a neat idea I'm sure the devs have thought about, I personally don't see this happening anytime soon. Maybe in the future if at all. But IF done right, can be a very neat role that fits the Aliens universe. I also think people should avoid looking at the vanilla ss13 ai role. Think something new and different when trying to think about how it would work.

Anyways. It'd be a lot of work and it'd have to be perfect. Gonna overrall say +1 for an ideal perfect scenario, but not really gonna die if it isn't added either. I'd also somewhat prefer devs work on other things before hand.

It was not the intention to make the AI playable. Whether it becomes playable at some point will require additional development, and that isn't planned or wanted right now. Denied for now.
