Armor Suggestion for Shipside Crew

Post by completelynewguy » 26 Apr 2017, 00:31

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): A minor suggestion about armor and Almayer-side crew.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): A minor boost for armor in terms of visibility.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
1a. Add in a new item, called the "Clip-on Flashlight" or "Wearable Flashlight" that can be attached to any uniform, in place of a webbing or a shoulder holster, that provides the same amount of light from a handheld flashlight. Can be autolathed or ordered in from cargo.
1b. Or make the clip-on flashlight compatible with overcoats, jackets, and armor vests only.

2. Make engineering and cargo uniforms compatible with M3 pattern armor at the cost of increased speed malus. A speed I have in mind is somewhere in the middle of "Chitin-plated M3" and "B18 but with a one handed weapon" (assuming that's how the armor and weapon speed system works.).

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Coding. Spriting. Crucifying the nearest town of NCR for the glory of Caesar (Kaizar).

clip on flashlight sounds like a great idea, but i don't think we should have it provide the same amount of light as marine armor.
Phillip Driver, jack of all trades, reliable in some. Your typical jumpy flamer PFC or ammo fumbling CPL, always has a pair of ballistic goggles on him for unknown reasons. Will probably die mid sentence, because he talks (and gets bullied) too much for his own good. He has his moments though.

Jim, a Gen 2 Synthetic. Has a tendency to get melted to bits when planet side, and that's when he's behind barricades. Despite that, he's vigilant and always ready to drag you out of danger, even if it damages him in the process.

Thanks for reminding me how much the marine shoulder light can reveal.

The clip on flashlight is a interesting idea, should be less powerful than the light used by Marines. You can toss a few of those into the ship armouries.

It'd be nice to have an alternative to sticking a flashlight in my pocket.

1+
Would be good for Almayer crew without quick access to light-sources (other than PDAs), like medbay loses power quite often now.
Careless, as usual.

What happened to the good old days when I surgically implanted flashlights into peoples' chests and they had portable light sources even without their armor? You people are such pansies. NEUTRAL.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.
