The recent re-work of the 'Responders' page has shaked things up a bit.

Of the pages contents, WY PMCs are well fleshed out. Yet the Mercenaries page is very lacking whereas the Iron Bears and Dutch's Dozen are in a bit of a doozy situation as right now they're sort of 'admin only' and no longer in rotation/lore. The Commando squad remains a enigma.

There's also the Union of Progressive People. I've got no info on the UPP Responders. Are they just a Iron Bear sprite reskin? Do they feature in a bigger role?

Contributions and discussion on the Responders and the factions therein would be great in order for us to expand on the factions more.

Effectively until we see the UPP in-game for the first time there isn't going to be anything possible to add to their page.

Freelancers are pretty much the same as the UPP in this situation as the lore has updated them in a sense but until we see them in-game with their new lore stuff there isn't much we can add to them.

When that changes they'll be updated pretty quickly so that they aren't just empty/almost empty pages.

The UPP are supposed to be replacing the Iron bears in hostile boarding missions. As they are the general sense of "the commies", a'MURICA hates.

The Iron bears on the other hand, they could just end up as a regular response team like the dutches dozens or the freelancers.

They're USSR spec ops who effectively just want to steal USCM tech, aka boarding the ship going to the bridge to take control and calling for more backup to then take the ship from the USCM and back to soviet lands to be studied and later most likely retrofitted.

Iron bears and Dutch's Dozen aren't ERT's anymore they're solely their for admin events as they aren't part of CM's canon anymore.

In lore the Iron Bears are a mercenary group.

More accurately they're more of a private army that their leader uses with a goal of hopefully getting revenge on the Predator that crippled him one day, which eventually turns into the General becoming so horrified and disgusted by Predator culture and their way of life that he directs the group to create a virus that would exterminate the Predator race, and its left open ended if the Iron Bears succeeded or not.

Overall i think the original assessment above is correct, until we see these changes in game and/or a Developer expands on the idea then all we can do is guess what's going to happen.

Iron Bears are Russian Mercs that got hired to steal the USCM Technology, they aren't a spec ops group, as normal marines know about their existence, but they don't know their TRUE objective, wich is to trigger the CIC lockdown and call reinforcements.

a Spec-Ops group would be a top-secret heavily armed group used in tactical operations, For IB be considered one of those, the marines wouldn't know about their existence and IB would looks like a russian deathsquad (Imagine the memes).

But it really sucks that Dutches got removed, they were one of my favorite ERTs, if i'm aware, they are the only ERT that has a slight chance of spawning with a minigun (when it happens, a baldie gets it), and they were the only ERT that has the specific objective to hunt down a pred, wich make his gameplay alot funnier if you managed to encounter one.

About the UPP, they are a neutral-hostile group, pretty much the very same of the IB.
