Make Hunters Great Again

Post by Fortport » 05 May 2017, 14:44

I think hunters should be a solid black to use their hide ability on weeds better, and also because I thought they looked cooler before. If we're worried about them looking like drones, then pixelate them a bit differently?

Consider the domes, and also the particular shades of black. Not to mention the yellow stripes we've added in. Just a little switch up.

You really should've put this in Suggestions.

And, in my opinion, they hide well enough. It's on a balance between "Solid snake" and "Big red glowing arrow pointing to secret hideout."

I assume it's balanced between the two to be somewhat fair, and are intended to be noticed at least sometimes. They hide pretty well as is, and are rarely noticed. But making them completely invisible on weeds is just a tad unfair. At least, that's my opinion.

I don't really think hunters need more hiding ability as it is, it's painful to freaking see them on weed as it is already. Plus in the last Map, they were so hidden in the bushes, trees and turf blocks.

I liked the way it was months ago. They weren't completely invisible back then, because of the bits of white in their sprite.

As far as whether it's a suggestion, it's more of a discussion in my mind. I don't see this being accepted or changing anything, at least now. I should probably try hunt-stealthing again, but it just seems lacking somehow with their shape and colors. This is with their simple appearance in mind, before.

They're actually pretty solidly hidden if you pick a good spot. I've personally had it work rather well, and I'm a bit worried that if their stealth gets too good that they'll be weakened in other ways.
"Memories can be vile. Repulsive little brutes, like children I suppose. But can we live without them? Memories are what our reason is based upon. If we can't face them, we deny reason itself! Although, why not? We aren't contractually tied down to rationality. There is no sanity clause. So when you find yourself locked down in an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember: There's always madness. You can just step outside and close the door, and all those dreadful things that happened, you can lock them away. Madness... is an emergency exit."

I've been pretty sneaki breeki as a Hunter, just got to play with your head as a Xeno rather than just sheer communism numbers like Marines.
