Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?
Yes
Why should you be whitelisted?
I believe I should be whitelisted because I have played as almost every single command job, except RO and CE, and I understand how to command a group. I have learned how the overwatch system works and the Laws of the Marines. Plus, in almost every game I have been squad leader, I gain the trust and encouragement of my squad, which can be a pain for other SLs. The only problem I have ever had as command is when I was an XO and people were just not listening to orders and doing what they wanted.
I would like to be able to play as commander to have a bit more control to make people listen and to also inspire other marines other than previously. Plus, instead of playing the "Coward, you die" commander, I play the commander that will take a problem by the throat, but will let go of it, at least for a bit, if it causes the death of too many marines. So those are the reasons I think I should be able to be whitelisted as a commander.

You say youve played nearly every role, yet i dont remember ever seeing your name, and your app is very vague, so, my although im leaning towards -1, ill go based off your answers to my questions. These are seperate situations.
1. Marines have been in combat around an LZ1 fob for quite a while, they are holding, but cannot for much longer. there arent many marines not at LZ1, and most of them that are there are involved in the defence. what do you do to break the siege, and secure the victory?
2. Marines are starting a mutiny, with... Xur... at the helm, claiming that the lack of/ quality of your orders has lead to many marine deaths, they are being reasonable, and are willing to talk. what do you do.

im gonna say -1 for now. I feel like you need to stay on the server for a little bit longer before i can trust you to be commander.

If you have to go at roundstart, what do you do before you log off?
I will vote after this.

Re: Sirichai's Application for Commander
Write a full briefing for high pop.
Write what you would say, and to who, when Marines make first contact.
Write what you would say, and to who, when Marines start losing.
Write what you would say, and to who, when Marines are barely holding LZ1.
Write what you would say, and to who, when Marines lose LZ1.
Write what you would say, and to who, when the Almayer is being boarded.
Feel free to answer to the questions as curtly as you want with as many assumptions as you want. I just want to get a feel for how literate you are since I don't often see you in game.

Re: Sirichai's Application for Commander
1. I would keep having the men hold and keep dropping more men down there until we have enough, but constantly evacuate the critically wounded. Once we have at least a small task force that has a chance, I would work with the SLs and their orbital drops and try to blow up as many possible. Once that is done, the small task force will slowly, but surely, push forward and take out as many of those beasts as possible.Jaketeaking wrote:You say youve played nearly every role, yet i dont remember ever seeing your name, and your app is very vague, so, my although im leaning towards -1, ill go based off your answers to my questions. 2. I would speak to the marines starting a mutiny, most likely with one MP in case things get messy, however I would talk with them about how I could help change the orders so that we can protect more lives of the marines and try to meet with what they are having a problem with.

You report to the admins that are currently on the server to make sure they know you are logging off, for whatever reason, and then you have to find a way to tell the marines in a roleplay format, like "I'm going into cryo sleep marines, keep up the fight" or something.NoahKirchner wrote:If you have to go at roundstart, what do you do before you log off?

We finally arrived at the colony, and the colony is not in shambles or had a raider attack. There are these strange little black dog things, they used to keep their distance and stalk us, but now, they attack. They have only killed about 3 men so far, but still these things can tear through armor and they use these strange crab things. We are able to kill these beasts, and there is still a chance of victory.
Ignore what I said last time, the marines are falling like flies. These beasts, they have abilities. Some of these monsters can produce an acidic cloud and gas out my marines. There are also huge ones that can throw those crabs mentioned earlier a lot faster than the smaller ones. Then there are these large red ones, from what I can see, they can charge, they can break marines on the spot. We aren't falling back yet, but we are starting to have trouble, we might need help.
The marines are starting to lose Landing Zone 1, it isn't looking good, there are few down there that can hold a gun and if they can, they are only killing a few of these beasts every now and then. The ones who can't hold a gun are being loaded onto a medical evac. However these dogs just keep coming, there are so many of them, and I don't know how much longer we re going to last.
Landing Zone 1 has fallen, the marines there have also fallen, we are dealing with the injured on the ship currently. I don't think that we can just take these guys out with just simple marines and guns, we might just need to scorch the planet, there aren't any human life signs on the planet so we won't kill any survivors. However, there are a lot of dead marines down there that have families that might want identification, but the destruction of this species must come first. Contact me when you have decided on if we should scorch the planet.
I guess this is it, those bastards are on the ship. They somehow managed to hijack one of our drop ships and have it crash into the brig. All of those previously arrested were killed and discarded. I already launched a distress beacon, but I can hear those dogs outside the Combat Information Center. I don't think they will try to hide any longer, they are trying to melt the walls. I have heard at least a few escape pods go off, maybe a few marines escaped. This is Commander Yilmaz, signing off one last time.

Ok, with that I am confident that you won't just SSD like 10 minutes into the round.MrAdventureFilms wrote:You report to the admins that are currently on the server to make sure they know you are logging off, for whatever reason, and then you have to find a way to tell the marines in a roleplay format, like "I'm going into cryo sleep marines, keep up the fight" or something.

Re: Sirichai's Application for Commander
Thank you. You can speak coherent english and stay in-character to a sustained capacity, at least in a pre-prepared forum post, and clearly aren't a baldie... now go send those marines off to die in a suicide attack.
Sorry for getting your hopes up but I kind of skimmed over your answers last time and since everything appeared intact I assumed you were good to go, but I actually do have concerns.
1. I can't tell who you're giving your speeches to. Like a third of it is you speaking casually towards someone about a serious matter, a third of it is attempting to be an indifferent narrator, and a third is trying to give a formal announcement? There's too much of a mix of styles here.
2. There's a lot of comma splices/improper grammar/difficult to understand sections even if we assume the whole thing is casual conversationalist. Here's a few examples.
Also there's the potential problem of you dedicating a whole announcement to "nuking/torching it from orbit". On a roleplay basis you could roll with it, I suppose, even though it's really a grunt move to just say to nuke the whole fucking thing. But on a gameplay basis you just used up the entire announcement to essentially tell all of the marines that the only thing left for them to do is go run up to you personally and say "yeah let's nuke it", you're not suggesting massing the forces for a counterattack, reorganizing the left behind troops, telling them to bring wounded and dead to medbay, to go to briefing, anything like that.
I mean, seriously,

There's commanders who have worse grammar... but you have to understand how much I'm hesitating as a result even if this seems to be really nitpicky. You're the guy with the loudest, most active voice and will be the only one giving announcements, you need to always stay in-character and understandable, and good, formal, commander's grammar comes with that. Would it break immersion to see a commander speak so casually, and occasionally incorrectly, in announcements? However these dogs just keep coming, there are so many of them, and I don't know how much longer we re going to last.

I mean, seriously,
Are you asking, via announcement, for the mass of grunts to just "contact [you]" about whether or not to obliterate an entire planet?Contact me when you have decided on if we should scorch the planet
