Black Goo and Neomorphs
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Add a derelict which contains black goo canisters. These canisters open after a while and mutates the ground much like weeds creating weeded ground tiles. If a human walks over this tile, there is a 1% chance that a spore can be crushed. This spore travels around to the nearest marine and infects them with a neomorph. After a while a neomorph spawns with it's own abilities. The neomorph starts off much like a runner, but progressively becomes stronger as it grows.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Adds a new dynamic to the alien caste system.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
As I've stated above.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
As I've stated above.
I'm not exactly sure how this would be a great idea, but come up with some ideas. I really like the neomorph and Black Goo from Prometheus/Covenant

Not at all, it doesn't affect the main gamemode. It's just a hazard for the marines and a 1-up for the aliens.MrJJJ wrote:So...a new gamemode essentially in a nutshell at worst

Re: Black Goo and Neomorphs
I mean I don't remember prometheus at all and I still haven't seen Covenant so I don't know the basis this is from buuuut, it's interesting to say the least. I have not much of an opinion on this, not sure if it really works for the current state of the game, or for the lore, but like I said, it's interesting. At least the general idea behind it, perhaps not the current implimentation.
Neutral cause I don't hate it, but don't particularly care for it either.

Re: Black Goo and Neomorphs
i do not know much about the nature of the black goos. does it do anything to aliens? is it healthy for them? bad for them? would the aliens be able to recognize it and use it as an asset? what does it do to predators? what would it do to monkeys or other animals?
maybe the marines could capture the containers if they dared to touch them and, if they get back to cargo intact, sold to wy to receive big bonus cargo points?

The black goo reverse engineers DNA of a host to have the host become feral and behave just like a xenomorph. Essentially, it's Venom, just in a more, horrifying way.misto wrote:i do not know much about the nature of the black goos. does it do anything to aliens? is it healthy for them? bad for them? would the aliens be able to recognize it and use it as an asset? what does it do to predators? what would it do to monkeys or other animals?

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Knowing this, the black goo can potentially harm the marines as well if they come into direct contact with the goo or if they meet an animal infected with black goo. It's never been demonstrated, but I'd assume that the Xenomorphs are immune to the black goo. I also assume that the predators are just as vulnerable as the marines when it comes to the black goo.

Might be interesting if we do a map with any Engineer ruins.

Re: Black Goo and Neomorphs
when they are infected, do they join the hive, or become a 3rd/4th faction on their own that are hostile to all? is it ever demonstrated that they recognize their kinship with xenomorphs? would they even recognize each other as allies?

Prepare for the auto-denial.
This would be cool and all, but it wouldn't fit in with the CM vibe, it could but it wouldn't at the same time.

I don't see how it doesn't. There's a bunch of stuff onto the server that isn't canon. Hell, even though my suggestion is staying close to the canon, the end result does not need to be.Tristan63 wrote:Prepare for the auto-denial.

I don't see why this would be locked, could you explain so I won't make suggestions that are apparently bad?Snypehunter007 wrote:This is...just...wew.

Re: Black Goo and Neomorphs
most likely denied because i believe someone has suggested this before and it got denied, making it an already denied duplicate. another reason is because this suggestion already falls under the category of things not to suggest such as new game modes (not saying this is a new game mode), new weapons for marines etc. i'm not a forum locking robot but that's what my organic brain can scrape together.Bawws wrote:It's never demonstrated, but we can just say that they have some kinship.
