Why do we need to grab aggressively to drag an injured man?

Post by doodeeda » 21 Jun 2017, 02:34

It seems like nobody knows about it and it is unintuitive..Can we go back to how it was and just make it a grab click or something? Or am I doomed to saying it repeatedly on OOC forever.

Using slack instead of the forums is lame.

This was added so we could keep the feature of being hurt when pulled while wounded. It used to happen when pulling and grabbing didn't cause more injuries. But since we merged pull and grab into a single functionality we had to find a way to keep both scenarios. If people really don't like it, we could get rid of that feature entirely and have simple grabs not cause more injuries.

It's mostly just that people don't know how it works phil and it leads to a lot of baldies and new players dragging people and causing unnecessary deaths and/or damage. Heck people could be doing that intentionally for all we know.

The feature should probably be gone since the simple grabs are slow speed. It made sense when pulling was a thing since you were dragging a body at very high speed..but wounds being opened up probably shouldn't happen anymore as it's all a grab now.

Actually, yeah. Pulling was tearing wounds to balance out pull, because you kept the speed. Now this not needed, because when grab body, you are already quite slow.

I had a pretty good laugh earlier because I was dragging an injured guy, saw a xeno come up so I neck grabbed him and threw him over a barricade. It made me wonder if being thrown hurts them, too.

For any curious, it didn't save either of us because the xenos jumped the cade and killed him too. BUT IT WAS STILL A BADASS MOMENT DAMMIT ;(

Weren't you able to drag two marines at once before the change? I miss having that ability honestly.

Now you can't, btw. You could pull one, grab one and grab another one.

Or just grab two... I don't remember now.
