Random Toxic Damage
Bug Description:
As a medic I have been seeing extreme toxic damage appear randomly on downed marines, usually when trying to defib them. They were not OD'd. This toxic damage is so extreme that saving them is impossible. Where does this RANDOM toxic damage come from? Many other medics have been seeing the same thing as me and are also just as dumbfounded.
Steps to reproduce:
1.Play medic one round
2.Try to defib dead marines
3.I guarantee you shall see the same thing we are

Re: Random Toxic Damage
I remember someone saying that heart failure inflicts 300 tox damage immediately as a way to stop marines from being revived after chestbursting. Is the difibrilator inflicting heart damage, too?

Re: Random Toxic Damage
It was always like 90+ easy, could be as high as 170ish. Marines died straight from burns or brute, no organ damage, no OD.

Re: Random Toxic Damage
I'd be tempted to try injecting the patients with spaceacillin before defibbing just to see if it is some whacky infection code. The Spaceacillin stops the tox buildup from infections, AFAIK (they do in Bay).
I've only played one medic round in my life on Colonial Marines, however.

Blood loss. Causes massive organ failure and Oxy damage. Probably what you're seeing.

Re: Random Toxic Damage
yeah below 50ish blood percentage inflicts massive toxin damage
this is a recentish change that was listed absolutely nowhere and presumably exists to prevent running around at 0% blood with a dexalin plus IV drip

Re: Random Toxic Damage
Fast way is carry a needle and find people who are universal donar, and infuse the poor sod on the ground with a little from others. And don't mix up blood types. Leads to more bad things.

Keep dead O- bodies laying around. Drain them with a syringe. Get the patient to around 70% and send them topside for Medbay blood. Iron+Sugar pills require a living patient and it's difficult for a patient with sub 50% blood to stay alive long enough for the blood pills to have an effect.

Otherwise, burgers and burritos are an okay short term fix, if they're awake and there are no needles around.

Re: Random Toxic Damage
Things may have changed since I last played, but if the reagents code hasn't been touched sugar doesn't do balls for blood loss. What it does do, however, is convert to/substitute for Nutriment, which is essential for getting from being starved and slowly moving to just kind of hungry and walking at regular speed.Chuckachu wrote:Slow way is what I caleld MarineBlood Pills (iron/suger 20u each)

Re: Random Toxic Damage
Some ronds ago, I played as a marine and got constantly raising toxin levels. Blood was okay and there were no internal damages, only little burns (all correctly treated). I didn't know where it came from and the medics couldn't help me either. It was a bit annoying to swallow/inject Dylovene every couple of minutes. Maybe the problem is related to the bug reported here.
I play Hans Meier, your random old guy from germany.
Is this a little medic Chibi Hans slightly different from the Avatar one? --> Oh yes it is! All the credits and a huge thanks to Okand37 for these lovely marines!
