I'll beat it to death- Marine Law is written weakly

Edit- salt flow, its not the worst thing ever, but its easy to heavily abuse it and some parts could be made much easier and more marine friendly

Marine Law was re-written by me. I then had Headstaff go over it and give feedback, then seniors, then all staff.


It's not bad just because you got arrested for breaking it.

Im actually laughing Apop.

I wrote this huge salt post explaining why i disliked it and what couls be done, realized it was a salt post, then made a revised post apologizing for it, only for you to have deleted my original post xD i get way too into it, but I always have beenta know?

I know ya work hard for the server Apop, trust me- i still remember my trial mod days and how hard the server treats its volunteers, i'm thAnkful that you try your best and don't go full tyrant on it.

I mainly just believe some of it could be tweaked, but its my opinion ya know? I just don't think SO'S being given unauthorized is necessary when you could put the guns in a round start CIC locker, or allowing them to carry it,nor do i think disrespect to a superior should be stackable to the point that a mission critical member is in perma. That isn't salt apop and not all of it has happened to me, it's just been stuff I've witnessed happened to marines we need, and are forced to suffer through because the CO can't even do anything about it, nor should a mod have to get involved in it.

Im sure any weak spots will be fxed in the future Apop, keep up the good works.


Though if i had to be honest i'd say the drop ship upgrades and functions could use its own front page section. (I still don't know what it's under and I've only been able to find it with the searchbar option) and it didn't really tell me how to load the shuttle up (a other pilot had to tell me how to do it, and I've had to teach two other pilots how to load it so far.

The attachments section of marine equipment doesn't list what you can put on battle rifles or the heavy rifle. Same with the Mk88 pistol and some other things I forget maybe.

Marine law has a few loose ends and weird laws.

The law about uniform sort of messes with new players if they latejoin, and not arresting them for it would be neglect of duty but that'd probably be considered shitlery by staff if you do so not a biggie.

Inhibiting chemicals is a bit vague (for drunk on duty), it might be better to have an illegal substances section and then list out everything so that there is a clear cut list of what is/isn't allowed, it's also a bit redundant with drug use being a law.

Drug use doesn't have a clear list of what is and isn't illegal, is peri illegal?

Drug distribution has the same faults, is peri illegal for distribution without command consent, or does it only apply to hyperzine and space drugs?

Sexual assault should mention that ERP is against the rules and to ahelp it probably in (( )) for OOC info

It has some grammatical errors with commas like here
NOTE: It is the duty of the arresting marine, (No comma required) to determine the punishment, ranging from the Minimum to Maximum(Might be better to rewrite the sentence all together in all honesty) It is reccomended (Should be recommended, typo) to make the severity of the punishment meet the crime and to minimize excessive punishments. (This last sentence makes the latter part of the first sentence useless)

Also, a lot of the laws would allow marines to be punished after an emergency situation has ended since only one explicitly mentions emergency situations allowing the law to be broken, might be good to add a clause to all laws that on code red or in an emergency, laws can be broken if they are beneficial to the onboard crew (Trespassing, insubordination (sometimes)etc)

Furthermore, the timeline might be better if linked to the lore, like linking specific areas on the timeline page to their lore page counterparts.
