I'm in internal conflict and I need you guys to resolve it for me.

Why did we implement the fog wall in the first place?

To prevent the muuuhrines from metacrossing? Or to prevent the xenos aggressive weed expansion? Or maybe it's something else?

It was added to stop marines rushing at round start.

Judging by the looks, you seem to be annoyed that weeds don't cross the river, hm hm.

As in drones rushing in before the marines land and weeding the colony just because they can.

it was real bad in LV which is why I hate playing on the map now since we have to wait until we engage thanks to everyone want to cross on the very 1st landing. Before the fog was added in the admins watched the river like a hawk and either spawned in mobs or slept and bombed any marines going across.

It was implemented to stop marine rushing, because short of laying a thousand eggs and building at the LZs, xenos are allowed to do whatever they want on the colony. Marine players who complain about xeno metarush weeding on any map have no idea what they're talking about.

As it stands, all it does is delay the inevitable marine rush for an hour now, after which the marine gets promptly curb stomped nearly every round.

Finish the Revamp for the researcher, add McGuffin to find on the planet that would allow the researcher to upgrade the Almayer to dispense the fog early.

but the problem now is that marines now face mature tier 3's and elite tier one and twos
In my opinion the fog is a lazy way for the admins a temporary fix to prevent marine metarush instead of just discouraging/punishing or creating a reason for the marines not to rush cross the river (marines need more planetside objectives).

What we currently have is marines taking their sweet time on the ship and landing 40 minutes in, setting the FoB in hydro and rushing in the 50 minute mark while xenos are just sitting in their cave after they've captured all the monkeys.

might as well just late join in 30 minute mark just to avoid the early game dullness and to make the fight more fair for the marines.

there are tunnels leading under the fog wall at round start, nothing stopping an enterprising drone from doing so

I personally think the fog timer should be reduced to reflect the alien buff changed.
