Tape recorder needs to be useful

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): I was playing as the corporate liaison and after a series of events the CE and two TSGTs were threatening to frame me if I didn't bribe them. I pulled out my recorder to start recording and when they caught on I ran for my life to the XO. He played it out and it was just me talking to my self, meaning there was nothing he could do.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It can allow for more espionage and provide greater evidence for crimes that may be committed on the ship, as well as a falsely accused person being able to exonerate themselves

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Have the recorder record all conversations within a two to three tile radius, or if that is two big maybe a two to three tile radius within 135 degrees of the front of the person.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): I understand marines were apparently using it as a work around to hear what the Xenos were saying or something like that but there has to be an easier way to prevant that than
to simply make the whole recorder essentially useless

I am not as familiar with how to attach pictures together as one file but I have them labled 1-5 showing the start of the recording to the end of the play back

This has been mentioned in bug reports before. I believe tape recorder was turned off because it could translate for aliens. I proposed a solution but it didn't get picked up.

We aren't changing the Universal Recorder anytime soon. Come back in awhile and we may look at this again in the future.
