The Warrior
So this got me thinking last night.. as the warrior has the longest tackle the fastest grab and move and finally the better pounce so I want to get other peoples opinions on if it should be shared through the sentinel and other castes instead of having it all go to the warrior...
What are your views on this ?
( I basically fell asleep writing this so yeah.)

RE: The Warrior
I like warriors: they are basically your assault, they are supreme hunters who can easily facehuggers or get a host, making them your one of top priorities to get.
I dislike warriors: pouncing and then tackling results in a walk which lasts forever and by the time it ends and you get up, you nested and hugged.
Also!
They stealth ability is extremely useful or useless, they don't use it much, but it can save your life or worsen your hunt...it depends just how you use it.
I think they op in tackle section because it lasts ridiculously long, even longer than queen...

RE: The Warrior
The Tackle is too strong/Warrior moves to fast. The combination is ridiculously OP. Tackled and dragged away from your fellow marines, the warrior can easily make it the length of the bridge before your marines can take 5 steps. They are just too damn fast to be fair, if a marine gets pounced by a warrior, unless he's surrounded by 5 other marines who open up fire right away, he's fucked. The warrior will bitch slap him back down if he tries to stand up, and pounce him on the rare occasion he gets away. There is just nothing you can do.

I don't even know how to tackle or hide as an alien (or alien warrior), some guides might be usefull.

RE: The Warrior
The alien warrior's huge speed/tackle length/pounce duration is basically all they have, and they need it to be effective/fun. All the other castes have some sort of special ability (acid, neurotoxin, resin, hugger-spam, eggs, etcetc) that makes them useful. The warrior is basically forgoing all special abilities just to have really good base abilities, like runspeed and tackle duration.
Although I haven't played/gotten wreckt by a hunter in awhile, so there's a pretty good chance that they might need a tiny nerf.
Also: What is the hunter's role intended to be? Are they made to be the main assault unit for the aliums, or are they supposed to hunt down lone marines who wander off/get separated from their group (Their stealth and pounce would suggest this purpose)

RE: The Warrior
Warriors still have pounce, which is BETTER than neurotoxin in many situations. They move significantly faster than any marine can hope to catch up, their disarm rarely misses and it knocks a marine down for 5 seconds, bare minimum. I've been disarm slapped prone by a huggerless warrior while fighting/defending the bridge area and dragged off in the middle of the fight. The warrior tanked every shot at him, the second I got up I was slapped back down into the hive. Sentinels can't do this. Spitter's can't do this, especially against a Marine wearing a helmet, the riot shield is the only thing that potentially stop this and even that is pretty buggy, I've been disarmed tripped through the shield even though I've been told that is supposed to be impossible (I was facing and shooting the alien in a maint tunnel)Caroes wrote: The alien warrior's huge speed/tackle length/pounce duration is basically all they have, and they need it to be effective/fun. I'm not calling for a nerf on all abilities, but something has to give when the vast majority of marines are more scared of a Warrior than they are of a Praetorian or Ravager.

RE: The Warrior
Alright, I see your point that the hunter is scarier than a lot of tier 3 aliens, but I think it's important to keep in mind some things, those mainly being the main offensive unit of the xenos. Sentinels are supposed to be defensive units (apparently) so as an extension neurotoxin isn't as effective as pounce because it's made for a different role, that being of knocking down marines near the hive so they can be nested.Davidchan wrote:

I agree that the hunter needs a nerf, but honestly I don't know what kind. I think buffs for the tier three aliens might be in order, as well. Perhaps allowing either ravagers or praetorian to knock down walls like a cult juggernaut might be a good idea. I know there's been lots of talk about FoBs being OP so giving the aliens another tool to break through them might be good.

RE: The Warrior
If the Sentinel is made for defending ( nest guarding ) surely you would want it to have a good tackle instead of neurotoxin but ah that is my opinion.Caroes wrote: Alright, I see your point that the hunter is scarier than a lot of tier 3 aliens, but I think it's important to keep in mind some things, those mainly being the main offensive unit of the xenos. RE: The Warrior
Ok huge non-sense most likely post incoming
*Marines when see a warrior* Welp, Shit, SHOT I-*Facehugged and dragged off* *rest of marines* holy jesus, it took him away way too fast! i barely got a shot on it as it just putted a weird creature on his face and then dragged him off at insane speed! this is one hell of a dangerous thing!
*Marines when see a A huge alien like a Ravager or so* Just another giant bug! shot it down! *after some time, the thing is filled with holes* Wooo! another huge bug for my kill count, this thing is less scary than that…thing…*points at the shadowed warrior*
You see, in real life, if you saw a giant alien like a Queen or Ravager, You would be scared shitless, unless you are some professional fearless dude, instead, they are so weak, that you can't even fear them, warriors who are almost your size but taller and bigger, look more intimidating and you are scared of them because you know its gonna get you easily, The huge aliens though, you know you can outrun them or easily shot them down or knife them since they so huge, and you know they so useless at killing you when you below they legs, since it would be hard to reach you from there, and you know they will be pretty slow and easy to catch, so its easier to either set up a ambush with lockers or just chase after it with your guns and destroy it.
Most marines seem fearless, since when you expect them to try not get close to something huge and most likely will kill you, they do get close and even try knifing it, that is just shows how marines see it "weak" when they encountered warriors who dragged off at least like 5 teammates in under 2 minutes and barely got shot, they just don't see a giant alien as threat, they see it as a huge bulletsponge, although the queen can screech, it won't make you fear her, you will be more like, annoyed at her for destroying your ears.
Ok below are not facts and i have no idea what colonial marines faced, but i just assume they had worser stuff
Sry, any idea what they faced?
Praetorian spitting neurotoxin at you? you probably had worser things happen than just some flying green thing knocking you down and dealing toxin damage to you
Ravager insanely killing everything with his arm-blades or etc? you probably had worser things happen than just some huge thing with arm-blades bulletsponge bug going around and swinging its arm-blades at everything
Hivelord keeps rebuilding things and seems to be never tired? you probably had worser things happen than just some again huge rebuilder rebuilding its defenses and seem to be tireless like a robot.
Colonial Marines probably faced bigger stuff than this
