It seems people have been quite focused on military police, from the influx of complaints and suggestions to change them. Therefore, I made this poll here, to see what people think should happen with MPs in CM. The question you should ask yourself before voting is, do MPs detract from rounds more often than adding to them?

Re: Remove MPs Poll
Right, removing MPs is not a good idea for a myriad of reasons.
No defense against mutinies
ALL bad behavior will require admin intervention
Nobody to enforce CO's rules
Less roleplay potential
If people are being shitter MPs, ban them. It's happened before and it'll continue to happen, I'm sure.
An alternative that might keep people from being shitters is to give MPs more to do onboard the Sully, what that may be? idk, but removing them is terrible.

Re: Remove MPs Poll
I wonder what people on the other side of the fence will argue. Also, we don't know if all that is true, because we've never tested removing MPs. Which, may be a nice little experiment we should try one day. Personally, I think MPs just need to be changed a bit, so they don't end up permabrigging everyone for the slightest thing.NoahKirchner wrote:Right, removing MPs is not a good idea for a myriad of reasons.

Its basically what happens when nobody joins as an MP
Its literally impossible to permabrig someone for the slightest of things, permabrig only happens by:
Spamming Disrespect to a superior on purpose and a CMP approves of said perma
Breaking perma worthy crimes
Breaking the law multiple times

Re: Remove MPs Poll
It's understandable that people dislike MP's and don't see them as adding anything to the round, but it heavily weighs on the people playing MP, not the role itself. As it stands MP's police a lot of issues that are hard for us staff members to enforce OOC'ly and it conveniences us as a result, they're also the first and last line of defence the command team have against an angry horde of marines, or hostile ERT's. It's widely known they cause more problems than they start but that's not something worth removing the role over.
Garth Pawolski, or is it Powalski?

Re: Remove MPs Poll
I voted yes. I have never had an experience with MPs on this server that was not shitty. It seems to attract all of the powertripping douchebags who love to hide behind the rules to grief people.
If squaddies are causing shit that's the problem of their senior NCOs and officers, and the captain can deputize people as needed. The current crop of idiots who harass people for having their weapons out or having AP SMG ammo or for grabbing stuff out of the emergency cabinets add nothing to gameplay and drive people away from the server.
MPs arn't even deployed forward like this anyways, they guard gates and bases and such.
