Two Of Each Specialist Equipment
Summary: Have Specialist vending machines hold two of each Specialist equipment choice, up from one.
Benefits: Imagine you wake up from Cryosleep at round start, against all odds you somehow finally got picked to play as a Specialist for the first time in a week. As you fight the round start lag and the horde of Marines rushing to equip, you are forced to ignore the mess hall as your stomach rumbles for food as you attempt to rush your equipment room first. However due to circumstances outside of your control (maybe you had a bad round start spawn, some baldie kept pushing you back, you spawned in Alpha or Delta squad, or maybe you were just too slow) you are now stuck at your vendor with the only equipment left being a Recon Sniper......
Putting aside realism/authenticity arguments of why a whole battalion of marines has only a single rocket launcher, or grenade launcher, to employ, I think for the enjoyment of the game restricting Specialists to fighting over equipment, and punishing two of the four Specialists into forcing them to pick a Sniper (which in the current meta is a very inadequate weapon), as well as forcing Specialists into picking items they are uncomfortable to take, is a bad thing.
This proposal won't remove the restriction on items and it won't fully satisfy people, but it'll add more flexibility to Specialists, put less pressure on them to rush their equip room round start, let people pick what they are comfortable with more often and overall be a positive change. I also do not see this as having major balancing issues considering it'll be balanced out by the ammo restrictions and cargo purchases.

I discussed this with you in the discord. This would make the specialist equipment available to more people, and make more sense considering the massive scale of the Almayer's battalion

+1 It sucks not getting the type of weapon you want as a spec when we really should have enough on the ship for people to pick what they want. Right now with the way specs are there isnt really one best weapon that beats picking any of the others like the smartgun used to, I dont think there's much chance of this harming balance.
To keep things still sort of limited, Sniper and Scout should be folded into the same package and have the remaining loadouts have two picks. 2 sadars, 2 GL's, 2 snipers. Probably a better chance you'll get what you want while still making it so one of each will probably get picked. I have a feeling the GL option will often not get picked at all but to me that has more to do with the GL being shit and not the sniper or sadar being amazing.

We could just make it so kits numbers aren't shared aka give 4 of each.
It might seem bad, but if 4 people decide to run SADAR for example, they can't resupply that easily.

+1, this is just what we need.
Also, 4 SADAR even when each have 1 Rocket that means 4 T3s and possibly some T2s and T1s aliens die.

Last time I checked that may have worked on youngs but not on anything more. Also different rockets work against different classes more efficiently.

The Spec is already rare enough to get as it is, since your usually fighting 100 + or 80 + people for FOUR SLOTS; making it a contest EVEN THEN to see if you can get a spec weapon that isn't shit has turned me off ever trying to pick Specialist unless im feeling lucky.
