USCM Special Unit
I was thinking if the USCM have a special squad like the SEAL or the GRUMEC, any thoughts?

Re: USCM Special Unit
the CO could make his own spec-ops squad if he wanted to.
The question is, who could he trust, let alone convince? Players are very difficult to control, and giving them high-ranking positions often doesn't go well.
Maybe one day I'll give it a shot, but I doubt it would work.

Re: USCM Special Unit
Perhaps have something like a whitelisted all Spec-ranked unit under the CO? Or at the very least take wounded marines who were doing their jobs admirably and slap some advanced gear on them before you send them back to the grinder hoping their corpses will make a big enough wall to stem the xeno tide.

Re: USCM Special Unit
The best I could think of is a sort of admin only response team that consisted of the USCM special forces.
In terms of equipment I would say their armor should be slightly more enclosed looking than the standard armor, they get a full face, or partial, covering on their helmet and their M41As start with a integrated silencer.

Re: USCM Special Unit
Even better.
Whitelist some robust people only, make some lore and background behind each of the characters AND the squad story.
Use the whitelist as reinforcement for either events or backup.
Enjoy.

Re: USCM Special Unit
would not be best if the RO could call a new type of armor and weapon supplys? like equipment that look like the armor and weapons from WO, but the cost in point would be something like 60 or 70, that way if the commander ask for the RO 1 crate of USCM special forces armor, 1 crate of USCM special forces weapons and a special forces crate he would have resources for like 4 soldiers and would waste with that 180 or 200 points.

Special forces seems neat. I would like this to be implemented or added.

Oh boy, I could see the marines begging for it literally every single round, leading to MP arrests left, right and centre.getfreur wrote:would not be best if the RO could call a new type of armor and weapon supplys? like equipment that look like the armor and weapons from WO, but the cost in point would be something like 60 or 70, that way if the commander ask for the RO 1 crate of USCM special forces armor, 1 crate of USCM special forces weapons and a special forces crate he would have resources for like 4 soldiers and would waste with that 180 or 200 points.

Re: USCM Special Unit
specialists are basically the special ops of the USCM
besides that, force recon would be cool but i doubt it could be properly implemented/put in effect. maybe a fireteam of marines sent down to the planet before every deployment. idk

Re: USCM Special Unit
I want to be a tacticool operator in CM, pls add.
"Memories can be vile. Repulsive little brutes, like children I suppose. But can we live without them? Memories are what our reason is based upon. If we can't face them, we deny reason itself! Although, why not? We aren't contractually tied down to rationality. There is no sanity clause. So when you find yourself locked down in an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember: There's always madness. You can just step outside and close the door, and all those dreadful things that happened, you can lock them away. Madness... is an emergency exit."

Re: USCM Special Unit
Honestly, a ERT on the level of Death Squad that isn't there to kill everything as a "LAST RESORT" button to liven up the match if marines have been doing well would be neat.
Otherwise, no.

Re: USCM Special Unit
Jokes aside, I'd vouch for a whitelisted playerlist being part of those snowflakes squad. It'd be a way of crossing marines RP-backgrounds, whitelist, bit of robustness and ERT. Just -another- kind of ERT.

Please no, last thing we need is a snowflake squad so kiddies can say their characters have 300 confirmed kills.

Re: USCM Special Unit
If you want a metabuddy squad of robust marines then all go Delta PFC and rambo off together, no one will notice a difference. Grab a station-bounced to listen to the general comms and tunr your headset to a private frequency (your new squad frequency) and go nuts.

Re: USCM Special Unit
This would become a meme squad or popularity contest as much as I'd like it.
I would enjoy a ERT whitelisted (or at least an ERT leader whitelisted ) so they'd have a competent leader guiding them with RP. Rather than a silent baldie who just pew pews
