The font of ALIEN

So, i was looking for some material to try and help boost my posts on making colonial marines More like the Movie.

and then i found this Amazing Gem of a blog called "Typeset in the Future".

Turns out the font type used for the movie is a modified font called "City Light" for the computers. Theres also alot of other amazing details that he pops up, like the rounded icons, hand painted letters, the nitty gritty of emergencies, its outstanding.

This guy does the wonderful job and really chews into the fat about all the deep and interesting choices behind that iconic iconography.

So if anyone needs some deeper inspiration about that black on green, boom, eat some hearts and popcorn. He even goes into 5 other movies that form the backbone of the scifi genre today. I gotta warn you though, the hole it opens in your mind is deep, and once seen you too will scream when you finally notice the biggest one of them all, k erning.

could the devs even get that font to work on some of the computer machines pop ups?

yah, same thing as every other font. you upload a sprite sheet and thats what the computer uses to work out text type.
