Xeno tier list.
If you could rank each Xeno caste in a tier list (excluding queen), what would your list look like?

Top tier:
Ravager ( Has a chance to chop of limbs, which is useful for taking out high priority targets, such as specs. Is very fast for a t3. Is extremely good in the right hands.)
Crusher (Can create openings for the xenos, break through defenses, soaks up bullets at upgrades. Plus its moonwalk and stomp are great.)
Praetorian (Is a much powerful spitter and is much more useful with its resin spit. Slow but really good at long range.)
Mid tier:
Hunter (Can take out lone marines and weak marines behind enemy lines without any outside help. Does not do well in crowds. Is very fast when upgraded.)
Boiler (Acid globs can almost instantly crit/kill marines. Glows in the dark, making a prime target for snipers.)
Spitter (Can rapid fire spits at upgrade. Main long range attacker.)
Sentinel (Can stun lock Marines when upgraded just like a hunter. Weak attack. Only spit it has is Neuro.)
Hivelord (Can build stronger defenses and is very good with Pheros.)
Low tier:
Drone (Has alot of plasma, but cannot defend itself well. Only good for being a plasma battery for queen and making defenses.)
Carrier (Can bring huggers with it far from the hive. Walking egg.)
Runner (Extremely weak pounce, attack power and health. Is only good for scouting and getting smallhosts.)

Recounted, you do know that a mature hivelord emiting warding basicaly doubles the shots it takes to kill an alien right? Also it can build defences like 3-4 drones at once.
If you ever wonder when did I really start hating incompetent people read Crab Spider's signature... I was that CMO.

Here's how I'd rank them.
Good tier
1. Praetorian - Xeno infantry - versatile and durable. Controls the center of the battle. Three pheromones, three spits, good armor and melee. Can do pretty much anything without putting itself at risk.
2. Hunter - Xeno cavalry - versatile and mobile. Controls the flanks and supply lines of the battle. Has just enough health, speed, and abilities to consistently survive skirmishes after dealing tons of damage.
3. Hivelord - Xeno fortress - versatile and controlling. Thick resin alone wins it a spot in this tier. Can also use its speed on weeds to bring huggers to the front line better than the carrier can (can even just walk up to marines and slap them silly), or to combat nest/combat wall. Decent pheromones.
Decent tier
4. Boiler. Massively benefits the xenos with its gas cloud due to its versatile area denial and smokescreening the aliens behind/in it, kills are just a bonus. Short-range acid stream is decent for helping in a push or retreating, but if its two main weapons fail to stop a push the boiler's fucked.
5. Crusher. Good offense, but using its abilities and momentum to the fullest generally requires putting itself at risk of being flamed, chased with AP, or both. Kool-aid man abilities are good, but worse than the boiler's gas.
6. Spitter. Movement speed isn't good enough for it to be that good at offense, and spit isn't good enough for it to be that good at defense, but it generally does the job.
Eh tier
7. Ravager. Very powerful slashes and high movement speed are nice, but its big sprite and massive vulnerability to AP means it can get soloed by competent marines when trying to do its job.
8. Drone. Hivelords are a direct upgrade in most ways. Slow and weak.
Bad tier
9. Runner. High risk, medium reward. Will die unless it sticks to sole targets or very light grazing against groups.
10. Sentinel. You can try interesting things with its spit, but chances are you'll die along the way because you're too slow and weak.
Carrier tier
11. Carrier. Exists solely to do the jobs paincrit, tacklespam, and drones/hivelords are doing anyway. Will probably get one or two infections that wouldn't otherwise have occured over the course of a round, the rest of its round will be either infecting people who were clearly gonna get infected, or wasting huggers on people who'll die anyway.

You people are underestimating what a robust runner could do. Friendly fire is the marine's number one bane and a runner can utilize that in the fullest. The runner's pounce doesn't stun you for very long but you'll panic and your friends while shooting at the runner causing FF to the pounced target which is far more superior than a hunter's pounce, you literally use the prey as a meat shield.

To be honest Drone should be number one. Without a good drone putting up defenses the marines usually beat back the Aliens.

This, but I would put carrier at least in eh tier, with a good supply of eggs, especially when the hive is on the defensive they can be very useful. They can get rid of helmets, allowing easier killing by lower tiers, and with the buff to huggers it immediately one shots. Sentinels actually are pretty good late into the round. If you can upgrade up to an elite sentinel, you will take out a lot of people of the Almayer.
