Dylan-Synthetic application [Mark Wilson]

Post by Mark Wilson » 22 Aug 2017, 05:25

Byond ID: Tactical 445

Marine Name (so we know who you are; if you play alien mostly, state that here): Mark Wilson

Name/Designation of the Synth Character you’re requesting to use (Follows common naming rules, and requires a first name with no last name):  Dylan

Are you familiar with the Synthetic Programming and Guidelines (viewtopic.php?f=57&t=14417)? Yes, yes I am

Synthetic Character Story (An ADEQUATE description and story of your Synthetics actions and involvement in a previous mission onboard the Almayer):
It wasn't long before the marines started getting rowdy, you could hear an occasional “this place fuckin’ blows”, with a muffled yawn in the background, marines would take naps, straying away from their objective to hold one of 4 small outpost.. They did not realize the potential threat that stalked the forest surrounding them, a few squads before hand were tasked with pushing the CLF out of the colony, but Dylan and his squad were tasked to hold one of a few outpost surrounding the colony. The CLF did not take many casualties, so commander believed they were organizing for a counter attack.

There was one person who stood out from the others, in his standard USCM uniform with no gun, it was the squad synthetic. He stood by the barricades peering into the vast field of trees and vegetation.

“Man, how the fuck does he stand there all day, it’s fuckin’ hot, smells like shit, and boring as fuck.”, Said a marine with a tired voice. Dylan paid no attention, continuing to stare into the vegetation.

“Are you a fucking dumb ass?”, chuckled Kurt, the squad lead.

“I’m not a dumbass!”, replied the marine.

“Seems like it, it’s a synthetic, he doesn't get tired you idiot.” replied Kurt in a antagonizing voice.

Dylan with a slight grin on his face said, “ well I prefer to be called an artificial pers-”

WIZZZTTT!!! A rifle round penetrated straight through Dylan's shoulder splattering a milky liquid onto his cheek, then continuing into a marine’s left leg.

“CONTACTS, CONTACTS!!!”, screamed Kurt. In seconds bullets started peppering the marine position, pinning most of the down. Kurt was mumbling into his command headset notifying the other squads of their situation.

Without even flinching, Dylan full on sprinted to the marine’s aid, instantly treating his wound. Bullets stuck trees all around him showering the area with bark, and bits of wood, but It did not affect Dylan’s treatment. A few seconds after Dylan patched up the marine’s leg, the bullets stopped coming, the echoes across the vast area slowly became silence. Dylan quietly dragged the wounded marine behind cover, and made his way to the SL.

“Has command given us orders?”, Dylan calmly asked.

“They said dig in and wait, one of the other squads is sending a fire team to flank their position.” answered Kurt with a bit more of a shocked voice.

“Affirmative.”, Replied Dylan.

About two minutes later a marine poked his head slightly out of the side of a barricade, almost instantly he quickly pulled his head back as a bullet whizzed by his face, striking a tree about 5 feet behind him. Yet again bullets erupted, but this time both sides were shooting.

“GET SOME, YA LIKE THAT!?”, a marine chanted as he unloaded bullets from his M4A1 pulse rifle.

Dylan swiftly examined the outpost for injured marines, he looked to his right where the SL was crouched behind a barricade, while simultaneously a grenade landed at Kurt's feet without him noticing. After not even one second of processing, Dylan swiftly lunged at Kurt shoving him to a safe distance as the grenade exploded ruthlessly tearing off Dylan’s right arm. The SL stared in shock as Dylan quickly regained balance, and rushed to another marines aid, a milky substance oozing from his stump arm.

Realizing he was just a synthetic, the SL returned to combat. After about 30 minutes passed of a constant firefight, and the marines numbers went from 18 to 9. Their moral was starting to shatter

“WHERE THE HELL IS THAT FIRETEAM!?”, screamed Kurt into his command headset.

Most of the surviving marines turned to him, including Dylan, awaiting an answer.

Kurt put his head down in disappointment, and said, “ T-They are dead, looks like the CLF were ready for a flanking maneuver, and were prepared.
Disappointment rushed across the surviving marines

“Orders are to evac, command says we have already lost enough men, the other squads are going to take over.”, Kurt said.

“The UD-4L dropship is on the way.” Kurt mentioned before shooting three bursts from his M4A1 pulse rifle.

About 2 minutes passed before Dylan shouted, “There’s the UD-4L!”

The SL threw three smoke grenades to cover their retreat. The marines disappeared behind the smoke and began rushing for the open patch in the forest where the dropship landed, all but Kurt. Kurt was giving cover fire as he slowly backed towards the clouds of smoke, about 5 bullets whizzed passed him before one struck him in the leg, bringing him to the ground

“GAHHH!!”, Kurt screamed in horrible pain.

He looked up at the smoke that was beginning to dissipate, he tried to inch forward, but his bone shifted beneath his skin stopping him dead in his tracks. His life flashed before his eyes as he knew he was done for, the marines had forgotten him. Well not all of them, right before he was going to drop his face into the dirt and give up, he saw something burst through the smoke. Before he could make out who it was, darkness filled his vision, then nothing.

“Kurt, Kurt can you hear me?” Dylan said, calmly.

Kurt's eyes inched open has he regained consciousness, Kurt turned his head left, then right, and noticed he was in med bay. Kurt then turned back to Dylan, noticing the 5 bullet holes scattered around his legs and chest.

“What happened to you?” Kurt said, softly.

“Did you really think I was capable of leaving a man behind like that.” Dylan sympathetically chuckled, with a huge grin on his face.

How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?I’ve played doctor quite a lot and can do surgery really fast, but honestly I tend to mix it up a lot, playing SO, doctor, MT, and researcher. I believe myself to be good all of them. My synth will mainly focus on helping in med bay, but of course I will go and see if engineering needs assistance setting up the SMES or the reactors, I may give the MPs or command staff advice if it’s needed. I will follow out orders to the best of my abilities, but if there is something more important that requires my assistance I will tend to it, and then returning to said order. My synth’s personality quirk will be something along the lines of respectful or nice, Dylan can’t really be offended, and will always remain calm and supportive.

How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
Yes, I have played all of them, I consider myself pretty good at them as well. I'm best at medical and maintenance, but I occasionally play SO here and there. To answer the question, I'm really familiar with how to play the support roles. (research is basically RP for now, but I still know how to play it)

Why should we whitelist you?
1: I have not broken any major rules
2: I know every role CM has to offer (but the whitelisted roles of course)
3: I know just about every law in the book (marine law)
4: I believe I'm a good RPer
5: I know a lot about aliens lore, including how the synthetics work and all.
6: I know how do everything a synthetic needs to know how to do.
7: I know, and can follow the USCM chain of command
8: Overall I consider myself a trustworthy, and helpful player who could be a good addition to the game.

Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? Nope

Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why? I got IP banned on Yogstation for opening up a plasma tank in the med bay by mistake and it caught fire killing multiple people.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline? Yes.
