Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?
Yes, of course.
Why should you be whitelisted?
I have spent the better half of my playtime in command roles, with mos of the rest relegated to other shipside roles. This does not mean that I did not play roles that deployed to the ground, having hard my fair share of playing Squad Leader and Squad Engineer mostly. Up to this point I have played every possible role in the pool so far, finding enjoyment in command and military police roles so far.
With that preface out of the way, I would like to be whitelisted so that I may, first of all, have a go at being the commander, rather than the acting commander, and so that I may further develop my character with a new chapter in their life. So far I have had quite a few rounds in which I was the acting commander as an Executive Officer, having to deal with situations ranging from a well staffed Almayer to moments where I was alone in the Combat Information Center, having to skip a few steps in the Chain of Command and delegate orders directly to the squads rather than my SOs or SLs.
I do not strive to be victorious in every operation or engagement, but to try and make it both a believable and an enjoyable time for as many people as possible. Most of my plans often follow a template, though I do try not to always be vanilla and generic. From attempting to set the FOB in different places to attempting high risk, high reward strategies such as attempting to flank them, my goal is to not turn deployment into a monotonous grind for everyone.
As far as briefings go, I gauge what they will entail and when they will happen based on the crew monitor and the overwatch consoles. If requisitions is understaffed or the marines are in high numbers, I’ll set the meeting to a later date than normal, making sure that as many marines receive the supplies they require before heading down. Depending on the presence of Staff Officers, Squad Leaders and the composition of every squad, they shall be assigned different roles. If a squad has its engineering component full, then they stand a high chance of being assigned to FOB duty, often permanently while a squad lacking in leadership will most likely be assigned to reinforce and follow a different squad.
Marine Law and the Chain of Command are both extremely important and to be upheld. Provided the links in the chain exist, I try to delegate and split the workforce as I see fit, expediting orders and enforcing my own voice over others only in situations that require it. In the USCMC, orders are to be followed and laws are made to be enforced.
The engineering and medical crew of the Almayer are both considered integral and important parts of it, a high degree of freedom allowed to both of them. The Chief Medical Officer would know best what drugs ought to be allowed and what drugs ought to be banned while the Chief Engineer would receive free reign to do as he pleased to the Almayer and its equipment most of the time. Should any of these find themselves missing, Victoria will likely discuss with the present staff of each department to determine the best outcome.
As far as my character goes, Victoria Vile is an energetic, vibrant character with near manic optimism and a motherly connection to her marines. For her, equipment can be replaced but lives are lost forever. While caring and friendly to most, stress can turn the woman into a monster, especially against those that would bring harm to anyone under her command. With responsibility comes stoicism and strength, which have helped mitigate and filter through the sorrow the woman feels towards every lost life.
For an in character explanation, Victoria Vile went in the marine corps to follow in the footsteps of her family, coming from a long line of officers. The woman however saw little action, as her first drop ended horribly due to an improvised explosive device used by a terrorist group. This claimed not only some of her squad members, but her right arm. The woman ended up quite scarred, quite a large portion of her body remaining quite contorted and disturbing, this creeping up on the side of her face. She refused plastic surgery to fix said deformity, deciding to bear the scars of war on her as a reminder.
While this did not stop her from participating in drops, it wasn’t long before her father, fearing that any more ground work would claim not only body parts, but her life, managed to get her out of the proverbial trenches and put her up as an Ensign aboard a ship underneath his command. As fate would have it, the woman proved quite good in commanding roles, a lot better than with a gun in her hand for that matter, and she rose up in the ranks rather fast.
The promotion to commander does not come easy, but after many successful operations and commendations from other commanding officers, Victoria’s looking forward to continuing a family legacy of officers within the USCMC and making her father proud.
It should be noted that I play on GMT+2 mornings and afternoons most of the time and operate on that time line.

Re: Cairath's Commander Whitelist Application
With different FOB positions we talking non used places that can hold some strategic value or just random places for the sake of variety that can cause a xeno steamroll as a result?

Re: Cairath's Commander Whitelist Application
We're talking actually defensible locations. For example, on LV, making the Normandy the main drop ship and create an FOB around LZ2.

Re: Cairath's Commander Whitelist Application
Lets have an example for Big red considering the first LZ can be defended easily and is the FOB standard for it, what other location would you have as an FOB location?

Re: Cairath's Commander Whitelist Application
To be honest, I never really tried anything beyond the normal LZ1 on Big Red, it's far too good to give up. I would be open to try something like LZ2 leading to cargo. Most of the time, on Big Red, I'd have two squads sweep in opposite directions, only to meet up in either Atmos or Engineering.

A valuable member of the community who remains active within its bounds. Definitely gets a +1 stamp in my books.
Has proven their worth in the role of commanding staff multiple times and knows the ins and out of the entire Almayer, from boot to XO.
I would be dumbfounded if you don't make the cut, Cairath. Look forward to seeing you behind the wheel. o7

Re: Cairath's Commander Whitelist Application
Thats the only thing that bothered me considering i have seen some games end fast just because of the FOB locations.
I like the other points and i trust you wont be baiting marines to mutinies.+1

Re: Cairath's Commander Whitelist Application
On the topic of mutinies, the only mutiny I've ever had so far was one where I was a Chief Engineer. I ended up hiding underneath the dead XO's body in SD, only to emerge and activate SD after the aliens took over the Almayer.

Re: Cairath's Commander Whitelist Application
see, the problem with non LZ1/nexus FOB's, whilst something thats fun and new, is xenos always just simply bypass the fob, and board DS1.

If I remember well, I saw someone actually ask the admins to disable the Alamo completely, saying that they used ARES to do so.

You're a good role player, and very active in the community, I often see you talking in the forums or in game. I also like your story, and I think you would be a wonderful commander so hopefully you'll fill those boots and command the marines. +1
