When Alexander was born he was born into a relatively high class and wealthy home. He got excellent grades so well he skipped kindergarten and later skipped 8th grade. However when he was only 6, his parents died in a fire according to police, though the police ignored his testimony of his parents being murdered because he was just a child at the time, and Russian police found "inconsistencies" within his testimony.

Alexander was fostered in a similarly rich home, though the parents did not show as much support as they should have, but they did support Volkov in his education. He got straight A's in school and did so well teachers put in recommendations and got scholarship opportunities to many major universities in the U.S where he attended at Harvard for 4 years before stopping and joining the marines.

He was always fond of sleepy, not like the other marines, because they just worshiped her ASS. He thought she made a good tactician ... like himself ... and was not surprised when he saw her as CO.

Though Volkov never ... approved of his attitude, or his nickname for that matter ... he always respected his ways, and his tactics, and even looked up to him as a role model for being the ultimate strategist, not JUST a tactician.

Volkov was always fond of Frankie, regardless of his obvious lack of strategical skill. Sure he had tactical training, knew what to do in certain situations, but found that he didn't like to follow orders, or the STRATEGY, of the battle. He liked him because he thought small, though he knew the weakness of thinking small, he knew the importance of the small things, not just the big picture.

"I'LL FUCKIN' TELL YOU, HE IS PRACTICALLY DUNKIRK IN WORLD WAR 2, HE'S A FUCKIN' COWARD, HE MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE WITH MILITARY TACTICS OR STRATEGY, AND WHEN HE WAS IN TRAINING, HAD THE MINIMUM SCORE TO PASS, AND WORST OF ALL, HES A FUCKING CUNT WHO CARES ABOUT NOTHING LESS THAN HIS GOD-DAMN RESUME' AND A FUCKING PROMOTION, I WOULD RATHER HIM GET A PROMOTION TO GET OFF THIS DAMN SHIP, THAN HIM FUCKING GETTING A DEMOTION AND ME HAVE TO SERVE SIDE BY SIDE WITH HIM"
Everyone ... was DEAD silent, for at LEAST 10 minutes. Then he was called to the bridge, but Volkov didn't care, he had said what no-one else had the guts to say ... everything wrong with Carson.
"Volkov, I am CO Bill Carson, you know that I heard that ... correct?"
He dutifully, and respectfully replied
"Yes sir, I did know that, as a matter of fact I was expecting it"
Carson looked confused for a moment
"Sooo, you WANT to get into trouble?"
Volkov maintained his salute still
"No sir, I wanted to talk with you ... personally I think you have the potential to become great, but sir, may I have permission for free talk?"
Carson nodded slowly for the request
"Sir, I honestly think, along with other marines saying this as well, that you are a coward, we don't understand your tactics, OR strategies. I'm damn sure you don't want marines to die sir ... but we don't understand your tactics, reasonings, or goals behind what SEEMS to be ... well ... stupid objectives and orders sir"
Carson rubbed his chin
"Ok Volkov, you bring up some very good points, and I will explain to you why I do things the way I do, also, at ease, I want you to be comfortable and considerate when I say this"
Volkov eased and Carson continued.
"The reason why so many military commanders die, fail, get suddenly trumped, or in general, fail, at their duties, is because they are too predictable, I plan to be as unpredictable as possible, I notice you studying Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" a lot, are you not?"
Volkov slowly started to realize ... this was a tactic he was practically using himself, be apparently random, so your enemy can't guess what you are going to do next.

(What really happened when he was 6):
I awoke to the sound of glass breaking and head upstairs slowly from the basement.
I see my mother and father's silhouette's on the floor, and them ... screaming for mercy.
Then something nearly deafens him as 2 shots ring out and the criminal quickly exits the house, as soon as he sees the car drive off he rushes to his parents, and finds them on the floor, he checks for their pulse, he knew that much, but knew it was futile when he saw a dark, shiny matter coming out of holes from both of them.
He smelled gasoline, confused and shaken, and on the verge of crying his guts out, he knew that it wasn't good, and how fire will soon erupt.
He tried dragging his parents, but it was a fruitless attempt, he then smelled fire.
He dashed to the front door and out into the lawn and called 102, the Russian police line, they said help was on the way.
He turned back as an explosion knocked him off his feet, deafening him even more. He knew what had just happened.
He then curled up into his 6 year old ball, and began to cry until he fell asleep, even as the police rolled around the corner.
