► Biographical Addendum:
Looking at Mingle's background, "Princess" isn't the first word that springs to mind. The second and youngest child of a mechanic, Zoey was a rebel from the beginning. Her father put his years and years of hard, underpaid work towards college payments - for her brother. Her brother managed to escape Georgia, and would send money back to his family - years later. Meanwhile, Zoey was trapped working as her father's "apprentice." Every day, she'd go to school, get her work done, and head home to work in the family's hell furnace. She longed for an escape, and found it in a boy two years older than her named Jack. He drove fancy cars, took her to expensive restaurants. It was like a fairy tale. She ran away from home, moving into his house.
Jack, naturally, was a drug dealer, and not a very successful one. He couldn't afford half the things he bought for Zoey, so they resorted to..less savory, more degrading ways of raising money. The arrangement lasted about a year before he was unceremoniously arrested and thrown in a far-away prison. Zoey was put in rehab, and managed to just barely graduate high-school. With practically no employment prospects, no chance of making it in college, and a stubborn refusal to go home to her parents, Mingle decided to enlist in the USCM. Despite her small size and toxic attitude, the Marines managed to turn her into something approaching a functioning adult.
