How would you define yourself? (Coder, Mapper, Spriter): Spriter.
Any previous experience developing with SS13?: A bit. Nothing too notable, though.
Proof of any previous or current work: Yes. This is the first time I have sprited in about.. six and a half months, give or take. I specialize in items (weapons, gear, regular items, etc) and clothing sprites (suits, armor, gloves, boots, helmets, etc).
How well do you know Git?: Github? No idea how to work it.
Your primary job is server development, not policing the server. You may be given Moderator-level of access but you should *not* be invoking any administrative actions unless there are no moderators or Admins online. Do you understand? (Yes/No): Yes.
Anything else you'd like to add?: People who put pineapple on pizza are the ultimate threat to the future of humanity's integrity.

Re: XenocidalEnragement - Spriter Application
So, you say that you specialize in item sprites but have you tried environmental sprites or have any for example purposes?
Would you be willing to learn environmental spriting and adapt to our visual style?
To clarify, when I say environmental, I mean terrain like, dirt, grass, shrubbery, outdoor elements and such.

Re: XenocidalEnragement - Spriter Application
While we could use any help in any department to speed things up, terrain sprites are the one thing that isnt getting a lot of consistant dedication. Josh gets most items and characters, I get most environmental stuff like machines or walls, but noone is on ground tiles or plants. If you would be willing to learn/do that kind of stuff I think it would really help your chances more than just adding to character specific things.
EDIT;
I feel I should clarify; it isnt that we couldnt use you at all if thats what you want to limit yourself too- I just want to see if you have the love for tiling and terrain in you because there is a big open spot that we need filled with someone who can do our style in.
EDIT, EDIT;
If doing terrain stuff interests you, let us know and i can send you a test

Re: XenocidalEnragement - Spriter Application
Unfortunately, terrain/tile/environment bits are the one thing I absolutely suck at.
However, I am absolutely willing to both adapt to the art style of CM's sprites and learn how to do those aforementioned sprites.

Re: XenocidalEnragement - Spriter Application
so we have reviewed your test and have some feedback;
We think that you show promise, but also arent quite there yet. Given a few months to a year, we think you would be a great fit in both age range and technical skill, so the door is open for you to reapply.
Your terrain tiles came out well, but could have used a bit more time spent on this test to make them tile and transition from tiles better. Check out of youtube videos on spriting things like grass to really help with that.
Also on the rocks, they are a bit too flat, and need to have 2 planes, like our perspective has. A top plane and a front plane. If you study this a bit over the next few months I think you could get a feel for it.
all in all, we are looking for skill [to hit our style] over speed. I think the test could have used some more time spent and love on it. But if you had been accepted, you would have been the youngest member of the devteam. BMC will be chiming in with a final ruling soon, but i really want to hammer down that if you study a bit and reapply at a later date when you have more a feel for things [especially terrain], and are a bit older, that we would welcome that.
Thanks for your application, and test. Wishing you the best of luck!

Re: XenocidalEnragement - Spriter Application
No hard feelings on my end about getting denied; I certainly do need to improve my spriting when it comes to tiles, mostly because it's just something I have never tried before. I'm glad that you were honest with what I needed to improve on, though. I'll try shooting for a reapplication later in the year.
As for now, i'll probably start trying to learn how to better adapt to CM's unique art style.
Thanks for having me, my man!
