Marine Name (so we know who you are; if you play alien mostly, state that here): Cooler Connor
Name/Designation of the Synth Character you’re requesting to use (Follows common naming rules, and requires a first name with no last name): John, he haves the nickname "Tin Hands" that was given to him on his many deployments due to his prestidigitation capabilties (alltough this doesn't have to be on the actual game)
Are you familiar with the Synthetic Programming and Guidelines (http://cm-ss13.com/viewtop ... 57&t=14417)?: I am. I found particularly interesting the David introductory video, Fassbender is such a talented man.
Synthetic Character Story (An ADEQUATE description and story of your Synthetics actions and involvement in a previous mission onboard the Almayer): This particular John unit started the same way as every other did, in a body bag. He woke up on this world one day, getting dragged out of his bag and being put to test moments later. The test room looked nice, pure white walls and just the perfect amount of light so that he could see, but it wouldn't be annoying. Perfectly empty with just a standarized airlock. A voice started speaking:
-John, can you hear me?
-Yes.
-This airlock is stucked. Open it.
He got up, walked to it and started reparing the wiring that was damaged, it was obvious. Once finished, he the voice spoke again:
-1 minute, impressive John.
-Thanks.
He didn't know why he knew how to repair it, nor did he thought of it, he knows what a synthetic unit is suppoused to do, after all. He found himself entrentained while doing the tests, saving someone from a collapsed lung, repairing the suspension of a vehicle, the simulation of piloting a dropship 250 kilometers trough a hotzone, you know, the basics.
His first deployment was as much as he expected of it, he was able to be usefull at the Forward Base of Operations this operation was making by establishing the electronic system before nightfall, wich allowed the lights to be turned on and spotted two insurgents trying to sabotage one of the walls. The next day, he was tasked cleaning the bathrooms, checking on the guns for malfunctions and fill magazines with ammo. It was great, and it was done quickly. Soon he was needed somewhere else, the Arcturian's homeworld invasion was starting soon, and they required every single unit they could use, not much happend on that invasion, he had to act as an emergency medic, giving first aid to many marines that would've died and neutralize an Arcturian suicide bomber on his first day and do change lights on the second one. All equally important tasks that were equally satisfying to complete. He is now assigned at the USS Almayer as a synthetic assitant, and now looks forward to the tasks he can complete aboard the spaceship.
Little note here, this is a character I made for a D&D game about Alien vs Predator and we had fun on playing with it : ^)
How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)? Uhm... This is a tough choice. I like all the support roles in every game, but in this one the most due to how interactive it is. Sure, it might not look as flashy to change a light when you think you could be taking down a ravager, but if the light you changed makes it easier for a marine to spot a Hunter and avoid his death, it's an important job. I'd go with with the roles I know the most, that being anything that isn't science. My synth's quirk is that he finds his work to be the most important for him. He doesn't like to interact that much with humans, but he likes them because they give him purpose, so when playing I would actively avoid getting into conversations or downright talking and just carry out the orders, wich would allow me to do more tasks. In the case I do need to talk, I'd go with
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
I know how to do pretty much every surgery. I am familiarized with medicine, but I wouldn't call myself an expert. I know all about being an MT, how to build stuff and set up generators, except doing the SMES work, that's just too weird for me. I have played my fair share of SO and find some success at it (the changes are great btw). I don't know anything about making chems, so don't relay on me for a Scientist.
Why should we whitelist you? I think I should be whitelisted because there's not many pepole willing to actually do things that need to be done and I find pleasure on doing so myself. I think I can add something great even if it is for something as small as changing a light or setting up the power.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? I haven't been baned from CM last month, but I was job-baned up until last month. I decided to take a break after the ban because this game has become important for me, and I thought if I was going to apeal the job-ban after a couple of weeks, I would just make the same mistakes.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why? I don't play on other servers, so if I am, it would be suprising.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline? Of course. It would be really messed up if you could pay to get a permanent spot on the list.

Awful, just from the name and title alone.

Sorry man, I gotta -1. There are a lot of grammatical errors, simple things that shouldn't really be wrong, and then like in our DnD game, you ran through a crowd of xenos to help a predator who just blew up several xenos. You have a poor sense of getting into a character, and honestly, the story line is just kinda poor and mimics the movie an awful lot. I don't think you could handle this role.

I don't think I can add much that hasn't already been said. The fact that there are spelling errors is pretty hilarious considering that you get the red notification letting you know when you have spelling mistakes. That means if you end up having spelling mistakes in your final draft (what you posted) you literally didn't even read through it a single time to check for errors.
I won't grill you too hard, but something that I learned in school is that good pieces of literature aren't written, they're rewritten. If you can't even be bothered to look through your work for spelling mistakes then it really makes me doubt you've taken this application as seriously as the staff intended.

Not gonna lie, the dialogue was so monoton it was actually quite funny. Don't take it in a rude way. Your story is lacking quite alot, I suggest seeing the accepted apps to get an estimate on how long your story should be and how it should be written. I don't want to be too rude, so I'll leave the other aspects of your app out, unless you want me to criticize them. If this app gets denied I wish you good luck on your next app.
