How to Make the Xenomorphs Lore-Accurate

Post by MisforMaster2005 » 31 Oct 2017, 18:57

This is not a shitpost nor is it a suggestion to make xenos more numerable and/or weaker.

I have an Idea.

Why don't we make it so that there is a story behind why the Xenos are more powerful but fewer in numbers?
I mean, think about it. The possibilities are endless.

Experimentation,
A mutation in the Queen,
The planet's Ecosystem,
And many more.

What do you guys think?

EDIT:Welp, I'm off to School now. See you guys in approximately 5 Hours
EDIT 2:I do know that xenos are stronger because more peeps play Marnie (Misspelled on Porpoise)
Character:Michael M's Amberson

I like red.

heh Comic Sans.

Well, Hadley's Hope had 158 colonists. The colonies we play on tend to have corpses and amenities that suggest population numbers between 40-60 colonists, excluding the 20 or so smallhosts around the maps. I would imagine patterns would diverge based on available hosts numbers and colony structure.

My headcanon was always that the hivemind gets strained with higher numbers. So something like...

Small Hive = More hivemind in each xeno, allowing smarter behavior.
Large Hive = Hivemind is strained and stretched thinner between Xenos, making them appear a bit mindless.

Masked summed it up perfectly.

And the reason why they're tougher is either due to the fact that theyve been experimented on by WY or that environment has made them more sturdy.

I've made the excuse that every hive is like it's own organism. Depending on where the hive is established, the overall condition of hivemembers varies.

For instance: An Ice Colony hive would evolve to be more resistant to cold to adapt to the temperatures.
A barren world with xenos would adapt to have tougher carapace to handle the lack of pressure
An ocean world would have xenos with adapted features as their hosts would already be adapted.
Commander Joseph 'Goliath' Clancy, occaisonal Charlie SL. Widowed father of three. Sufferer of PTSD and extremely Australian.
Corpswoman Judith 'Mèrci' Clancy, quiet, caring daughter looking out for her siblings.
Warrant Officer Emile Clancy, Strict ex-police chief, now a tired CMP.
Xenomorph Queen 'Pandinus' ruler of the Alpha Hive. "I want more children!"
'R'ka Us'Tribi' Serpent Trapper, hateful predator.
