Your last letter spelled out a lot for me, things I never knew I would find out. I have been certified for deployment about a week ago, thanks to your efforts, and I will be a working man. As you know, David Rooder was among the so called "Forgotten 27", those poor sods who were stuck in their cryo pods, long forgotten by the CLF bastards who took the USS Orgata for ransom in 2174. The news has died down a bit, and a decision has been made to wake David for his duties in this sector now that eyes are slowly coming off. Only 4 violent criminals were part of the "Forgotten 27", and out of them only David had attempted murder on his sheet. Now i'm sure you've also been briefed on the current legal status of the drugs and memetic engineering he was subjected to in his rehabilitation period. While he was deemed fit for duty after physical and mental examination in 2143, after the catastrophic asteroid strike on the USS Urist and subsequent rescue operation, we are still a bit worried about how this whole situation could play out.
You yourself have gained quite a bit of notoriety in the last few years, Kerry, so we have decided upon a solid course of action:
You will not be deployed on any operation your great-grand uncle is confirmed to be involved in. This is a fairly severe response, but due to the extenuating circumstances at hand, we feel that it is the best course of action available to us. I hope to hear from you soon, and I wish both you and your new-found relative great luck in Tychon Rift.
